When and where did that happen, if it ever happened.

I don't recall ever in the war with the Covenant that we had a ceasefire to deal with the Flood.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Cortana was probably retelling the final moments of the war through her rampant perspective, she got a lot of strain because of the Gravemind's influence after all and thus it may have accelerated her rampancy.

I am a monument to all your sins

halo legends sucked. It took WAY to many liberties. since when can the flood fly?

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

It didn't happen. Cortana is losing it.

It's just more of an artistic representation of the events. Did it ever actually happen in cannon, no. But, in some instances, John felt akin to the Covenant when fighting the Flood on Installation 04, almost felt sorry for them.

I'm sure some of the Covenant felt the same when seeing humans battle it out with the Flood as well.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Flying Flood would be a cool addition to Halo though...

When you've fought through hoards of flying forms on Legendary on Halo Wars, you can come back and talk.

THE NIGHTMARES.

Doh, that's right. Guess I haven't played Halo Wars enough recently to remember. I guess I should rephrase it, flying Flood would be a great addition to a FPS Halo game.

At least in HW you have numerous units to attack with, in an FPS, you're on your own.

You don't understand. On Legendary, most other units get slaughtered. Your main and best force for survival on Legendary is ODSTs. You can lose your entire army in seconds to airborne flood, hell, any flood in general, and then lose your support units due to being suddenly outnumbered.

Most airborn flood created Infection Forms, and they did it fast. Most airborn Flood traveled in very large groups.

When some airborn flood die they released more Infection forms or a Flood spore cloud.

Spore clouds are the true nightmare. You cannot destroy them. If they get wind of any infantry, the fly over, FAST. They usually wear themselves out once they've infected your entire army.

Wow, that makes the Library on Legendary look like a cakewalk.

The flood levels were nightmares, every single last one of them. But they were nothing compared to some of the earlier levels.

Actually, scratch that. The last Level was a true nightmare. The remaining Covenant are giving everything they have at you and the Flood, and so are the Flood. And you start off in a tiny little base, with no time, fighting your way through both to escape.

God I'm glad I finished it on Legendary. Never again. Never again.
