OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

- Do not post about any illegal substances or activities.

What do you think Community? It's mixed on legal and illegal right there. Legal for people 21 and older in America (Younger for other areas of the world), but illegal to anyone younger than the age for drinking.

Is it considered breaking the rules depending on the situation? For example, I was thinking of creating a thread asking other people what types of wine they like or they have seeing as I was inspired after a wine tasting exhibition I went to today.

But seeing as it's illegal to many users, is it considered breaking the rules? What do you think community?

To people under 21 where I'm at, yes. But legal for everyone else in the world at a different age.

Is that the situation? If its not, its probably perfectly fine.

Drinking isn't illegal, underage drinking is illegal. In the same vein, talking about drinking has never been a problem here, but discussion of underage drinking would certainly be against the rules.

i.e, don't mention age at all and I doubt you'll run into any issues.

Edit: For example, the drinking habits of the webmaster and yoozel have long been memes here without a problem. PAX threads usually involve drunken stories or pictures of drinking as well.

Oh, I see. Alright, I was just wondering. Wasn't really going to mention age, but was going to ask what type of wine do people like when it comes to taste. I'm just assuming some people are going to make an "age" comment.

Yeah that might happen. That's their problem though, IMO. I wouldn't respond to anyone who mentions it, just to keep the thread above board.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Ooooh but now where do we set the age limit at? Also nations with booze bans etc.

That's the number of bans in this thread. Next time you want to derail something, go stand in front of a train.

What is underage drinking in one country, isn't in another (I know you said don't mention age). Although I would assume it would mainly go by the American standards on this American based forum when talking about such issues, should they be present.

I can legally drink here in the UK and I'm under 18, it's legal as long as your parents/guardians are ok with it (in your house and you're over the age of 5) or if in a pub they're there and you have it with a full meal only (and you're 16-17 years old).

Nonetheless, if you're talking about a type of wine or saying you have a good vintage from whenever, that would be fine I would've assumed.

I won the Star. With this on Week 18.

American law varies state to state, but underage people in many states can also drink while at home with parents. It's kind of a convoluted mess, which is why I suggested avoiding it entirely.

I... wouldn't overthink it. Maybe just don't mention that you were in Bangladesh at the time?

Whoo.

I think the illegal stuff only applies to things you'd know you'd get banned for, like linking a torrent of a game, or asking for advice on how to murder a family member, stuff like that.

Things that are only illegal "under certain circumstances" wouldn't really get you in trouble, like talking about wine, or talking about how it's illegal to own a gun/tazer/pepper spray/etc in the UK.

Plus either way wine isn't inherantly illegal, people would assume you're just talking about legally drinking wine, you'd only raise a red flag if you made a thread like "I'm a minor, how do I get some wine?" or something like that.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

Hm, okay. Just wondering. Thanks. :) I guess the thread I was going to make about wine tasting or favorite wines is kind of made because of this thread... xD But okay, so I understand the rules a bit more now.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

By illegal, they mean things you can't have at any age, drugs for example.

  • 11.13.2011 8:53 AM PDT

I imagine if it was "I'm 13 and I get people to buy me wine. Then I drink it" then that would be bad. But go for it, wine is wine.

  • 11.13.2011 8:57 AM PDT

Key

Wine... isn't.. illegal.

People talk about being drunk or having a beer all the time. Wine is no different.
