Did Spark just said that the Didact might return to annihilate us?

Timeless One better shows up before that happens

I think so. He said that without the Librarian to keep the Didact's behaviour in-check he's going to be super pissed off, I'll need to go over this again and I may write up a transcript.

What's worse; A super-angry Didact? Or the Timeless One?

This is what we call depth in Halo 4. :D

I felt so sorry for Spark when he started talking about wanting another Moniter with him. :(

Oh, in the Two Betrayals terminal (I believe), it showed some kind of creature with a green eye with slit pupil.

Was that Flood or something else?

Well i do know that that crashed alien starship had green light,so i think you saw that.

Humanity are so boned. It is them versus the entire galaxy almost and now the Forerunners might be against them too. They might as well try their luck with allying with the TO.

I think they're Precursor; mainly because in Cryptum, the Timeless One was described as having slit eyes like a lobster or something (this is of course assuming that TO is Precursor).

I never thought I could have felt Pity for Spark but I did, he was indeed going rampant and he couldn't handle the loneliness.

I never thought they would have shown the Keyes-Proto Gravemind fight from The Flood, great to see they did it.

Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

Ughh. I wanted to wait until release when I got the game. But I want to join in the conversation. I must watch.

Those were pretty sweet. The previous ship that landed on 04 is very interesting, but I'm kinda thinking we probably won't get too much more info about it. I think it was mainly used as a plot device to explain why 343GS didn't just quarantine the hell out of the Humans and Covenant when we landed on the ring, or blew us both up before we even landed there. I could obviously be wrong, but I think it's more of a plot device than an intended mystery with any previously planned solution.

That ship has something to do with Halo 4. I have a strong feeling, and it looks very foreign from anything halo. Most likely something even more alien.

Aww man. Poor Keyes. I believe that terminal was a visual version of the piece of writing in the, The Flood book.

Also. 343 said something about 2401 being broken before we met him on 04. So does that mean the Gravemind was already on 04 for the past 100,000-1000 thousand years?

The UNSC at this point in time is basically a mix between the Soviet Union and the US post-WWII and is the only power at the moment who knows what the -blam!- to do with the Forerunner technology and how to apply it. I'm pretty sure they can handle themselves for the time being.

Terminal 3:
The thing of interest here is the construct, something that is showing a little bit of hostility to it. Delaying it and wasting time. This very same construct was also the cause of Guilty Spark failing to control the flood outbreak.

Terminal 4:
Something stopped the procedural meetings between the monitors. This may show that the gravemid in Halo 2 had shut down the comm system throught the delta halo. So that it could grow easy and make sure no sentinals from other installations may come and take it out.

There may be outbreaks in the other installation and the only one able to communicate is the one from 09. This could mean they were unable to communicate or something went wrong on the other installations.

Next Penintant Tangent, was the only one communicating with the other monitors. And it was not functioning properly. Meaning the gravemind had got hold of it, and used it to shut down the comm array or block the signals between other monitors.

This could be the Gravemind trying to lull the monitor in a false belief of peace and hoping to plan its next attack via some spacecraft in the later terminals.

Terminal 5:
Question is what is this ship, is it from the installation where the gravemind is, or is it the covenant. If not them then is it some other ship from some other space faring nation, running from their doom.

Terminal 6:
Ship from before, looks not anything of any faction of halo. Although the gas venting from it looks suspicously flood like. May be a transport ship from pre halo firing infected or another space faring race not discovered infected.

Or a plan by the gravemind to get suspicous onlooker and witnesses to study and try to find the source, whereby when they land they are captured and their ships used to recolonize the planet.

Terminal 7:
Guilty Spark is showing signs of rampancy, but not because of age but because of something that would happen to a human if given a duty and left isolated for years with no help. It looks like Guilty Spark is trying to control himself trying to rid himself of these procedural doctrines placed on him and do what he believes should be done.

Terminal 8:
Guilty Spark says and notes that there may be more than 7 actually 12 even after their destruction in the Capital as noted in the book Cryptum. 7 was enough to clean and purify the world but there could be more still around inactive.

Another thing that was noted was that the Halo's could be used against them as medicant bias tried to do.

Terminal 9:
Keyes trying to fight for his own independence. trying to remain sane while the flood tries to assimilate it. Make it become one of them and forget the world. This may be why when he died the flood could not use his memory against earth, because what he knew were not given as of yet and the flood had not assimilated him.

Terminal 10:
Guilty Spark is still stuck in his own protocol, and believes that the only way to save this universe and destroy the flood is by activating the flood, that which the humans do not dare to do, but they would rather destroy, the ring. Guilty Spark shows no understanding of this procedure as the normal way of defeating the flood and only sure way is via the halo firing.

Any other way, including destroying the halo only allows the flood to spread if another release happens and the flood enter this sector.

Conclusion:
There may be more terminals on other levels and just have to be found, maybe there are 20 but the ones you found are not the only one's maybe, some may be hidden.

Edit

Do you know what it's time for? A sexy party!

I wonder what we will be fighting in Halo 4 there has been some speculation that you will be fighting the flood (which i have no problem with)or the forerunners. I hope its both lol.

Im only getting Anniversary because I want to play it in those amazing looking graphics and the terminals. Maps I dont really care about.

Ajw, did 343i suddenly decide to release all these videos to the world?

Or has someone somehow downloaded the game early and leaked everything, as did happen for Halo 3 ODST?
(I'm afraid to click the links and find out for myself)

Anyways, I'm saving these terminals for the actual game itself.

Someone got the game early (legitimately) from a retailer, it's not quite like ODST where everything was leaked by the French a month before release.

  • 11.13.2011 1:26 PM PDT

I have to admit, I feel kind of sorry for Spark. If he had a buddy to float around with he may have stayed sane for a little longer.

I thought it was a frog. :/ The eyes just screamed "Frog!" to me and in the next shot it showed a limb with webbed fingers; similar to a frog's limb.

The UNSC lasting even day against the Forerunners is laughable at best. They could just collapse Sol and the UNSC would have no way to stop them. Throw in the ex-Covenant races like the Sangheili and the Brutes who would likely follow the Forerunners against the race that they so despise and Humanity has got no chance. It would be stupid to trust the Flood, so the only faction left is the TO, which is from another race who were supposedly destroyed by the Forerunners. The reputation of evil that the TO has mostly comes from the viewpoint of the Didact. There was a line in Cryptum in the part where Bornstellar and Didact get to Charum Hakkor, and it said how the two Forerunners walked across on the shattered fragments of both Human and Precursor buildings alike. It is very symbolic I think; both of those former empires crushed beneath the tyrannical bootheel of the Forerunner. It would not entirely surprise me for things to turn out this way to be honest.

What interests me possobly the most (other then the unknown ship) is the symbols that appear on the screen after every terminal. What could they mean?

Im am kind of confused seeing as i never read any of the book. For example the first terminal shows how 343 GS welcomes the humans and the PoA saying how they have "been away far to long". Is 343i trying to explain why humans went to the ring right after they escaped Reach? Im basically asking is that what actually happened, did cortana, keyes, etc all see this message?

  • 11.13.2011 3:37 PM PDT

I think Terminal 10 should be the "best one" as it pretty much reveals who the enemy is in Halo 4.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

I still have hope it's not the Forerunners who are the "ancient enemy". That would be so lame.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Uhh, AJ?

I havent read neither Glasslands nor Cryptum yet. Should I watch these terminals, or should I just wait untill I read both books so I can understand them better?

I agree. Didact seemed pretty regretful over his actions. Of course, we've yet to read Primordium or its sequel, but I hope Spark was referring to the Timeless One.

There is also the fact us humans are Reclaimers.
