Subject: If Sage was never hired at Bungie....

What would reach be like?

Im not trying to be mean or anything but it really makes you think. Sage was previously worked with Shadowrun, and if you didn't know Shadowrun had bloom and classes(I don't know what you would really call them) sort of simalar to AA's.

Reach would have been a lot better methinks.

I wish Joe Staten worked on the Campaign, but he was probably busy with Bungie's new game. At least that means their new IP will have a good story.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Sage did an alright job... big shame about bloom though...

alright for a video game

not so much for a halo game IMO

Yes, I'm pro at Action Sack.

If they had just used Shadowrun's bloom, Reach would have been miles better.

Inheritor # 275 in United States

He really -blam!- up the warthog though...

No bloom. No loadouts. If AA's at all, they'd be pickups.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

It would have been better had he not done Reach. And I agree with one of the people above, Staten should have done the campaign. Just him making a basic concept of the story would have changed the final outcome drastically. But Sage did do Reach, and Staten didn't write the story, and now we're all stuck with an ugly piece of crap that 343 is trying to fix with CEA.

And this is the problem. Reach as a game isn't that bad. It's pretty good.

As a Halo game, it pretty much sucks dick.

i agree with everything said in the thread.

Planking : Parkour for people who don't move very fast.

One one hand, I have to give Sage credit for at least having worked on a game before, something 343i has yet to do.

On the other, Reach failing can't be blamed on one person. It was a group effort.

more like the group who hired him

Since Reach is the first in the timeline of Halo, it can only get better.

I'm wondering what would have happened if the guy from some of the vidocs (the guy who said "campaign prepares an amazing table") never worked at Bungie.
(Nothing against the guy but I'd be interested to know)

I <3 Halo:Reach - amazingly fun and best campaign + amazing Soundtrack
I <3 Halo 3:ODST - best soundtrack + Firefight + Coastal Highway and Mombassa Streets, amazingly unique campaign.
I <3 Halo 3 - best multiplayer levels + Forge + best Custom Games + soundtrack
I <3 Halo 2 - amazing huge fun campaign + soundtrack + Fun multiplayer
I <3 Halo: CE - started it all

I don't get why people think Sage just created the whole game...They had a whole team create the multiplayer components, yet Sage is the guy everyone goes to to blame on.

Hey -blam!- you that guy is cool.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Because he was the lead sandbox designer, which pretty much defines the whole gameplay experience at the fundamental level.

Harass the harassers.

While I do not know who you are talking about or the game you are refering to,if as you assert he was soley responsible for AA and bloom in Reach then I would say it would be differant in a undeterminable way.Perhaps worse, perhaps better,no way to know now and most likely no way to ever know for sure.

False, there are indeed members who worked on games before such as those who worked on Gears of War, COD, Metal Gears Solid, Fable, and Assassins creed, don't forget the 3 Bungie members who left to stay with Halo.
