Subject: Are the flood created by the Precursors?

It's the prestige that makes the illusion.

Before you read:
Well i don't have any Halo Novel nor did i ever read one.
All my knowledge from halo is from the games itself and
Halo Pedian.

Is the flood created by the Precursors?
why do i ask that silly question?
I read some Topics on the Bungie Forum.

Precursors

Gravemind

In these 2 topics some people claim that the flood are created by the Precursors.

If it's true, can you explain me everything, please?!

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

There's no confirmation, other than they arrived from another galaxy in the form of powder jars in a ship. The ancient humans didn't know what it was and so, applied them to their pets and then they all went crazy (the pets).

Humans began to fight the flood and had to move closer and closer to Forerunner space (I am not sure on the last part, they could have attacked or moved closer to them or something like that), the Forerunners thought that it was a signal for war and began to fight the Humans. The humans had to fight both the Flood and the Forerunner and somehow they found a cure for the Flood, driving them away before being de-evolved by the Forerunners.

Some time passed and then the whole Flood returned and attacked the Forerunners story happened, the only difference was that they didn't have any way to get the cure since they de-evolved the humans back to cavemen status and so, they were unable to win.

And that's how Space AIDS finished with the Forerunner empire and how we came to be cavemen.

That is the implication that came out of Halo: Cryptum. Nothing's confirmed but we'll probably find out for sure in Halo: Primordium.

United Armed Forces

I doubt it. If it had been, the Flood would have hit the Forerunners first, instead of the Humans and San'Shyuum.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

It is assumed they were made as a form of revenge against the Forerunners.

Humans found them and put them on their pets (they were powder before), maybe if they didn't had found them then they would have arrived with the Forerunners.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The Halo lore is full of plans not going as planned.

CONES ARE AWESOME.

Now I could be wrong, but from my understanding the precursors created the forerunners but eventually the forerunners began killing precursors until there was one left (The Timeless One)
and he created the flood and being the "god-like" being he was somehow knew to plant them in capsules on ships in the megallanic
clouds on the edge of the galaxy so the humans would find them who after finding out what they really were came to the forerunners and ended up infesting their worlds as according to his "master-plan" therefore getting back at the forerunners for wiping out his race.

Rules don't stop me.

Yeah the end of Cryptum would make it seem that way. And as I'm sure tons of people have already said, it's real interesting when you consider that the Flood in the bible was created by god to get rid of all the sinners, save those on the Ark...

No...Its not proven but:
The precursors escaped.
When the flood came to the galaxy...the timelessone was long by in cage...
The precursors made the flood to destroy forerunners because they uprised on them.(i dont like this theory)
I prefer saying that the flood is extragalactical and has been infecting galaxies for millions of years before it came to milkey way galaxy...ofcourse there are forced outside the galaxy not knowing that the flood here has been defeated.

and our answer is at hand - The Last Precursor

It is implied from this quote that the precursors had a hand i the floods making but the preview paragraph/description thing for primordium clearly differentiates between the flood and the testament of the last precursor, which is interesting.

And the fact that the TO said the answer thing many years after the first arrival of the Flood which implies he wasn't reffering to the Flood.

I'm thinking about the following possiblities:
-The answer and testament are the same and the Flood is a part of it
-The answer and testament are the same but the Flood have nothing to do with it.
