I noticed while looking at the webcams everyone's talking about (i still don't get what the big deal is, but whatever), and noticed the soapbox. I did know it was there, as i've been in and out of this website numerous times. But i never actually read what was inside, until just now.
The first soapbox article i wrote was from CJ Cowar (or something like that), and i must say it was funny. I know exactly what he's talking about (being a southern california resident myself and having gone places where the temperature is, well...not up to par). I laughed, and it was like good times.
Then i looked at the rest, but didn't read them (i'm in the office, supposed to be workin, lay off). Still, i checked the names, many of which i did recognize, like joe staten and alex seropian (sp?). But there are only 10 articles, all ranging from 2003 to 1996, which is a pretty long time. So here's the questions i have:
1) why don't we get any new articles from the bungie staff individuals who have something to say that would be worth reading (as usually everyone has a funny story once or twice, if not more)?
2) if its over the course of 8 years, how the heck are there only 10 articles? Have articles been deleted and only the best saved, or was it that nobody really cared until what they wrote about happened, and then they thought gee, why don't i put this on the soapbox?.
3) Is this a dead part of bungie, which is not really going to make a comeback, like the webmaster (well, he had a january q&a thing, but that was four months ago after how long...), or can it be expected that we'll get one since its about time for it?
And normally, i don't say things like this, but i'd really like to hear from members who were actually around back when they were still doing the soapbox, which was latest august 2003. I mean, i'll take any input possible, but firsthand experience on the issue sounds much more...exclusive, shall we say.
