Really the only Rumor I even knew about there was about there beeing a Halo 1.5 I read in some British Magazine. It sounded really cool but I was wondering for something that big why hadn't I heard about it ANYWHERE else.

Only ONE Question Remains. . . . Do They Love Bees? or Is it some joke that someone made to drive many insain!

Good thing all those rumours have been cleared up now. I'm a little disappointed about the bots though. If they were in halo2 they should have been like the bots in red faction 2, where they gain experience that would be cool! Anyhoo, thx for the update frankie

Oh, and all you suckers whining about bots, bots would suck anyway. There is no way the AI would ever compete with a humans, unless: a) You really, really, suck. b) They have waaaaaaaay more health and way more shields then you.

Either way, it's stupid. And Bungie did say they were exploring ways to make the game more fun for those without friends and without Live. I'm sure they came up with something good.

Like I posted above, you ignore all real arguments about bots - i.e. not having the ability to play on Live. No one cares if Bots aren't as challenging as human opponents - that's obvious.

As for exploring ways to make multiplayer more fun without system link or Live, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

A lot of people have the feeling that no bots was a desicion made by MS, not Bungie...and I can see why.

Put yourself in my shoes. Tonight I sat down while scrolling through the Halo menus and looked through the multiplayer screens. But noone to play with. I was so tempted to plug in my second controller and just run around shooting the MC just standing there! I'm feeling a bit uneasy after reading the rumours about the bots and how frankie said theyre not in Halo 2. I'm sooo disappointed and I just cant believe it. Whatever happened to the quote one of the bungie employees said in the faq earlier this year. He said that bungie are trying to make the multipayayer game fun for people without xbox live. This is when he got questioned about bots. I mean, whats going on? If Unreal can do pretty good with bots in its games, Halo should be about to make them half as good at least. THey dont even have to be that good. They just have to be there. Halo 2 will be a classic indeed. Do you realy think that in 7 to 10 years people are gonna be still playing it on live, even when xbox 4 is out?? I plan on playing this game for years to come and even takinging it out of the dusty closet to reminise on old times. I love the Halo campaign. But ive played it sooooo many times over and over and over again. I wanted something different tonite and multiplayer was it. But I dont have all these friends with xboxes that live down the street. its one in the morning too. I just dont' get whey bungie would let us down like this. They know it was the fans number one request. Maybe they want to surprise us big time. I keep thinking this all the time. Otherwise they would be pretty selfish. They all can get live and can play against eachother anytime they want cause they all work there. What about the people like me who cant get broadband or want to get the most out of Halo 2? I just don't get it. It doesnt add up. I agree with Anime wars. This will definately upset alot of people.

i agree with the people who want bots not everyone has broadband or a credit card my friends have xboxs an are getin halo2 but only 2 of us have live an were barely on cause it can get a bit boring at times an as for people who say get a lan party going lol, me an my friends i know that were not gona get are xboxs out an get tv's everytime we want a decent match an as for single player it can't last forever it'll get boring after a while, an bots may be dumb but it would be nice to still have them i wouldn't mind if they were there but they still have to consider the people who don't have live an i don't see how they can make multiplayer entertaining any other way for people who don't have live

I doubt any bungie employee will ever read this post out of the half the b.net community's feed back but if they are....thanks for all your time keeping us informed. Its sad that I have waited two years for a videogame but when its insainly detailed with the best sound, graphisics and all with a company that cares about the fans more then counting money, then its worth the wait. Meaning they actually go the extra mile to hold back the plot and make sure that its the most complete game of all time. Best part about bungie is that they hold back the plot. I can tell you countless idiot times that I blew movies thanks to friends and looking at picture books.....who would have guessed that darth vader was luke's father ;-). Thats mainly the reason why I squirmed when the guy at gamestop asked me if I wanted to reserve a copy of the strategy guide. All in all, thanks for all you do. Peace

I agree, The only thing i ever see staff posting in the forum are repromands, which isn't a bad thing, but I wish they'd drop by and at least track threads of this nature just so we could get some elaboration on what they're saying. Sure I understood every word, but there are some feasable arguments like people asking for SL Co-op, Which would be cool, like in RS3. However on Split-Screen RS3 Co-op the AI always has sound glitches because the game code still reads and performs different AI voice responses whic can be hellishly annoying!

I said split screen. I meant System Link. However the split screen on RS3: Black Arrow does the same thing. Sorry for double-posting, but i screwed up and this forum won't let me edit anything.

Some answers yeah, but nothing on melee combos? I mean they were confiirm in. But lately i have seen some disturbing evidance that combos are not in...

I too am one of those people that can't get xbox Live, Not because i don't have braodband but beacuse i do. its just i don't have a credit card (i'm 14 you see?) and my mum and dad sure as hell ain't gonna pay for Live. its also not as if i don't have any friends that have an Xbox i do. About 5 other people in my year alone have Xboxes but you know traveling from house to house lugging xboxs and tv's around isn't easy and even just going to one persons house for a split screen match can't be done often either, the nearest i know of lives 2 miles away. Also i don't exaclty have a big family so the only competion i get at home is from my sister and she's basically -blam!- at Halo. Personally i don't see the problem for a slayer match: spawn in, sees any enemies shoot, runs to banshee/ghost etc shoot any other enemies i don't see the problem in that. c'mon at least give us the technical reasons... i'm pretty good at that sort of thing. just saying Why not just apply that to bots? Well, it would be a lot harder than that for one thing, but more importantly. Halo 2 is a single and multiplayer game. We have a rock solid single player mode and rock solid multiplayer modes. Bots is a combination of the two. is not enough. Why? is iharder that that explain it to us!! jees i thought you were good at explaining things. my mistake...

Of course bots suck, of course the only way for them to compete to humans is that the player would suck and there are pletny of games you can fix the health and shields/armor of the enemy bots to get your jollies off on them.

Your neglecting something, and anyone downing the idea of bots. The main reason why alot of people enjoy fighting bots is for two reasons, they can't get their XBOX online, and they (or a friend/friends) they like the odds, in numbers if not intellegence and accuracy, staccked against them.....

....or their realy realy cruel and enjoy picking on the infereror AI contralled terds.

Still, whatever Bungie throws out on whatever date it maybe, we're not getting one, but two HALO 2's for both the Xbox's in the house so I can say I ran my dad over with a Scorpion...er...if its still floating about in it, and if they do have LAN Coop, I won't get slugged or give the slug for being fragged by my own teammate. And a Four player Coop would rock, but I see the point about overrunning the enemy, however, who said there where rules in war? xD

Thanks for clearing up the rumors Frankie, now, all I need now is the game...

....anticpation sucks >=P.

Thanks for the nice reply. I find it outragious that people think there would be 4 player co-op....sure its possible to create but why would you want to have it for halo 2. People would think that its ripping of rainbow six 3. Halo 2 will have 2 player co-op online from what ive heard and rainbow six 3 (and black arrow) has 4 player co-op. Two games in two different leages of there own. Lets not get gready people...sure its ganna be the best game in the world but come on. Me personally am not going to play multiplayer before i beat the game on campaign that im afraid that some noob will blow the ending. Another reason is for co-op online. On rainbow six 3 you can play the final level with 3 of ur good buddies on co-op. I wonder how halo 2 will do that. Get the game...meet up with a friend...and play the last level. What a waste...I cant wait to see how bungie takes that approach. Halo 2 has been a hot topic for years while some games just last a few good months (think of arcade games) but the main point im getting to is that with all of this content...guns...maps...vehicles?...stuff...that will be downloadable via xbox live will keep us busy for a long time. If bungie does end the plot to the halo series in halo 2....I would envision a Halo 0.5 which would have a video game based on the fall of reach. That would be tight to be different characters like..fred..sam...maybe even kelly...and face the covenant with the same technology used in the first halo game. I love chaos missions like pelicans and banshees soaring overhead while you fight elites ready to die for a purpose infront of you....All in all...the ball is in bungies hands and with less then 2 months to go...the hype is still strong since day 1 of halo 2 talks. Peace

Why Four 4 player Coop in Halo 2?

Well for one thing, not everyone is the Gaming God of War. I've played Halo 1 over and over and over again (and over and over and over again), still do when I want to crack Covenant Skulls (or run screaming from the Flood..."ACK! GET'EM OFF MEH!"), I've beatin it on all settings.

However, on Legendary, the sheer numbers of the Covenant Forces I engage agaisnt sometimes leaves me pinned behind something else for a good long time, and in the end, I'm sometimes out of ammo, no grenades, and a snow balls chance in h-#@$ in surviving a close quarters confrontation with three elites who are just now rushing my cover.

Sometimes (and serious, I'm expreinced, not the best), firefights in the early levels can last close to twenty minutes, and thats WITH a friend. I like the odds stacked up against me but sometimes it just gets out right frustrating to charge a room eight times, only to be thrown back that many times or more.

It was the lack of fire support that made Legendary unfair, yeah, I like the odds stacked against me, but we're talking about Alamo Fair, and we all know what happened at the Alamo. At times, I wish I could send two of meh friends one way, and me and my partner go the other, the combat would still be tough due to the level of skill floating around here in the South, and since no matter how many times I've played it, its very, VERY rare I come across the same firefight, the tactics and sometimes how you approach things have to be flexiable and fresh...or you could always rince lather and repeat the same "...toss all the grenades, attract attention and flee," tactic.

Another reason is they're maybe more Halo players in the house, and we're getting 2 of them bad boys to riddle everything that moves with bullets, ourselves included, and we're getting 2 so we don't have to constantly fight on who was going to play the capain and with whom.

And it would rock.

But as one said, the ball is in Bungies' hands, and we all better count our blessings to get a sequal, they could have shrugged their shoulders and went to something else.

Bungie loves you! oo

I think not including bots is a giant dissapointment. Every argument I've heard against bots completely ignores the fact that many xbox owners simply can not afford broadband ($50 a month where I'm at is nothing to scoff at - and it can be much more in other places) and some areas do not offer boradband AT ALL.

I mean, Bungie could have easily added bots to only a few game types (just slayer, for example) because that would still give people with enough expendable income and a broadband connection a reason to sign up for live. I mean, how hard could it have been to add bots to a simple slayer game type? The single player Elite AI was almost good enough. How many potential Live subscriptions would that cost MS? Not many.

For some people, broadband + Live is simply not an option. PERIOD.

if you can't afford to pay $40 a month for cable internet access then its OBVIOUS that:

a) your parents are stingy bastards

b) YOU need a better job.

anyone that sleeps in a bed everynight can afford $40 a month. thats a little over a dollar a day. you could stnd in the street and earn that!

Ok, since you fail to see my point, my closed-minded friend...I'll spell it out for you.

Broadband is not $40 a month everywhere.

Some areas do not offer broadband.

That's not even mentioning areas outside of the U.S., where in some broadband can be rediculously expensive if it is available.

Some people are not livinig with their parents. (i.e. - bills to pay, that don't include broadband+Live every month.

See my point? Myself, I do have broadband, and Live. I'm also don't have your case of tunnel vision so I can see why so many Halo fans wanted Bots added more than any other feature for Halo 2.
