MROS (Mindless Rabble of Scientists) - A group to discuss any aspect of science

Hard is good.

I would be much more inclined to have a veteran prefix than a fabled one. I'm sure there are others who agree.

- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I agree, or give uses the ability to choose between their eligible titles/prefixes but as I do not know anything about the system I cannot comment on whether or not that would be possible.

Pretty sure the option is already there just inaccessible to us. Or so I'm told by some Londoner.

  • 11.14.2011 9:32 AM PDT

But I already have the veteran prefix.

would you propose adding a post count to compensate? Account age is after all viewable from a profile page, unlike posting tendency.

Take a step back with me and enjoy a taste of the bittersweet that is our current generation.

I enjoy Battlefield and Call of Duty, and Gears of War.

20 years old, manager of my family's business, aspiring officer of the law.

I love anything political.

I highly agree with this as well. Intrepid/Fabled should take the least priority IMO.

I think there should be more prefixes added all together. The prefixes have been around for a long time, and are very repetitive. Hopefully, when Bungie announces the new IP the title system and prefixes change to represent their new universe.

Matt - Like a G Pix, like a, like a G Pix....

I've been here for about an year and a half and I still don't understand how the system works. I mean, I've gotten into trouble before but, I don't know how long it takes effect to my rank. I'd like some kind of Update here or something for the ranking system. I know that's kind of a lot to ask for but I just think that if the Mods had the time that they would probably try to update the system every once in a while.

I mean, don't get me wrong, they're doing a great job, I'm just a little tired of the same ranking system. Anyways, I'm probably not one to talk since you are all mythic/legendary members, I'm sure you know what your talking about but, I'm not too smart about this.

No, do you consider your posting habits to be a good thing?

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

Achronos did tell us a little while ago that things will be changing in terms of titles, but I'm too lazy to find the quote.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

I don't consider account age to be a good thing either. However, for one to be redundantly exemplified and the other completely hidden is dumb.

Like I said, if we drew a correlation newer members would care more about posts per day or whatnot. To be honest newer members wouldn't care either way because of their fancy coup.

It seems being able to choose between eligible prefixes would be more appropriate.

However, if that was not possible I still believe that most would rather show their account age rather than post frequency (if not rather nothing at all)

I hate to burst your bubble but there is a correlation between post court and user title. I'm not certain on what you're specifically talking about, because you've made very few sentences in this post and I cannot read minds. If your goal is to intentionally mislead newer members, then by all means have at it, but I'm certain there are better methods for this.

You claim that newer members would automatically value post counts because they do not have the account age latter. In this hypothetical dichotomous system (but not really, for there are, after all, other titles) you also claim that older members would almost certainly value account age to contrast the prior statement. However it is certainly possible to both value account age and post habits, but you don't take this into account. The issue at hand is that you want some exclusive title that newer members cannot have to differentiate yourself. Good luck denying this.

However, your assumptions that older members would by default choose the more exclusive account age is not without fault as clearly I oppose it and for the sake of argument my account has 2 more years than yours does, qualifying my opinion in this matter.

Additionally, you questioned whether or not we should regard posting habits as a good thing. If anything, we should regard both account age and posting habits as irrelevant to discussion, so highly regarding one while discrediting the other is foolish if not fully hypocritical.

I think you're taking this a little far, I'm not one for being dragged into long conversations about nothing worthy of long conversations.

All you really need to say is that you want to keep your Fabled prefix

I graciously accept your surrender.

In the future, if you do not feel up to discussing something, don't make a thread about it.

Additionally, substantiating beliefs tends to give some form of credit to a decision. If we handled all decisions like you mentioned above, as in we preform a medical procedure or build a bridge because we "want to have it this way", the world would be a troubled place.

Do you always try and force an analogy where it isn't needed? Posting in a forum is not some extravagant fight to the death, there is no victory here.

While I do enjoy petty criticisms, my previous point still stands, while all of yours have been refuted. I feel the analogy is needed because clearly there is fault in your logic.

I also enjoy ironic insinuations. Your points have not been refuted because they have simply been ignored, the purpose of the thread is not for me to personally discuss the matter in depth but merely to provide a base of discussion for others.

I will not reply to you anymore.

If your purpose was to provide discussion then why did you attempt to refute my post in the first place?

Also, could you explain how this situation is ironic? Or even what you were talking about as far as this correlation business was concerned?
