Subject: Downloadable Content Error...with a new twist - any ideas?

Just started getting a downloadable content error on Reach. I've followed instructions on deleting the defiant and noble map packs, clearing the system cache, and then redownloading and reinstalling all the packs. I've also made sure that there was no bungie pro receipt in the directory, and there are not more than 3 marketplace items in the Reach directory. Doing this several times in varying combinations has no effect, nor does powering off/on the xbox in the process. All other games on XBL seem to function fine. One note, my hotmail account had been compromised a week before, and I the account was blocked for about a day while I re-set the password. During that time, I was playing MM in Reach just fine. The day after re-setting my account however, I can't play MM. Coincidence? I have no other problems with XBL or MM in other games, only Reach. Any ideas?

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333
Do not play halo much anymore. Barely ever come on here.

That is very bizarre. No clue what happened.

I have the same problem

  • 11.14.2011 2:09 PM PDT

I spent an hour chatting with XBL, and they told me to call in to the center, b/c they are stumped (and thus start the process over). I did remember seeing an unrelated comment by bungie that sometimes errors creep into the system, and can take up to 72 errors for the Reach servers to correct a player profile. Any other thoughts would be appreciated...

How long have you been cut off from MM in Reach?

PSR = (((K+A)/D)*Win%)*120
The average player's PSR = 100

It's flashing that you don't have the DLC because the update for anniversary got put into MM today, but the maps aren't available for download until tomorrow.

After talking (cumulatively) to XBL for 5.5 hrs, this issue has been elevated past the escalation team, to tier-3 at Microsoft headquarters in Washington. They will try and re-create the issue in their lab on one of their consoles, since nobody has ever heard of this issue before. They're pretty sure it has to do with network/licensing issue. Keep you posted.

Are you sure it's not because you don't have the new DLC?

I don't believe so (and XBL support must not think so), since the premium battle playlist has been disabled, even though both defiant and noble map packs appear in my download history. If we were required to pay 1200pts for the anniversary pack to continue using the defiant/noble packs we already paid for would be extremely wrong.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Look on the bright side, you get to play games that are better than lolreach.

It did end up being the DLC. I'm stunned that it had to go all the way to Tier-3 support at Microsoft headquarters. What confused the issue is that my Windows Live account was hacked within hours of the release of the Anniversary edition map packs. That, coupled with the fact that all previous paid content has moved to the premium battle playlist - and you have to either buy Halo Anniversary or pay 1200 MS points and get the new maps in order to play any of your previously purchased maps (Noble/Defiant). Even the people in the escalation team weren't aware of the playlist change (requiring you to pay for content in order to play already purchased items). The advertising re: this could've been better. Ended up buying Halo Anniversary, and everything is fine now. Btw, you can pay separately 1200pts just for the anniversary maps without the game, or get the maps free with the game; just make sure you don't do both!
