Subject: The Reach Problem

I have seen many people argue their own opinion as to why they hate Reach or why it is a terrible game. However really most of the arguments I have seen can be disproven in almost all cases. So I ask you to give an argument and another one can probably given to disprove it.

i hate reach because of the grenade spam, i wanna see how you can disprove that.

Applying any and all high explosives in an attempt to dispatch your foe is a valid and effective strategy.

bloom doesn't work as intended.
armour lock had the opposite effect as intended.

good luck.

-Bloom in its default state was too random, and at most ranges cadence with one's shots was at best tied in efficiency with careful pacing in terms of effectiveness, which removed the emphasis from skillful aim to games of chance.

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333

The way how physics and ballistics works in this game is laughable.

Here we go,IMO bloom was implemented to simulate the realistic effects of firing a weapon quickly and repetitivly, while I unserstand people do not care for it,I think it was an attempt to create a more emersive game for the player,as now they must pace and keep from causing their shooting to become less accurate and therefore less effective.Armor lock was intended to block massive damage but not allow players to kill instantly when the user exits AL,which appears to be the intent of emp. While this can be used as an offensive weapon only noobs melee,so It should not make a differance to the skilled player.

The only way bloom would work is if it was 3 shots to kill and bloom was massive per shot. But then why not just remove bloom and reduce the ROF. I've never seen any company's approach at a FPS which caused the player to SLOW THE GAME DOWN.

Standard settings vs ZB setting run a difference of almost 3-4 minutes per game. ZB make the player worry about firing accurately because if you miss the other person has the chance at winning the fight, even if you fired first from behind. You miss you deserve to miss, not have the bloom assist your bad aim.

I have one, why does the Warthog flip so much from incoming DMR fire? Or why does the Ghost go at light speed? Actually even better, why does the Revenant bounce like a ball?

...Physics!

Think of armour lock as a pill and banshees, scorpians, and rocket noobs as headaches. You use it to relieve the problem. However people tend to abuse it they use it when not needed. The purpose of armour lock is too balance out powerful weapons and vehicles. The problem is with the people that use it not the ability itself don't blame a game for noobs. That should be obvious.

Reach's only problem is its wonderful community.

That is one reason that bloom is implemented, another is to level the field so that experienced and inexperienced players alike can play on an even battlefield. I know most people don't like that. Although at the same time it teaches people not to sapm but rather to pace shots so they land one the opposing player's head. The bloom problem can be argued either way i personally don't care.

Could you be more specific on how it is laughable?

  • 11.14.2011 2:50 PM PDT

The grenade spamming is not Reach's fault in any Halo game anyone could spam its just a matter of avoiding it and killing the enemy before they get a chance to kill you. Noobs will be noobs it won't ever change no matter how much you want it to change.

That is true at a distance, in med range its just a matter of pacing shots at a range longer than that it really leaves it up to chance so it would probably be better to just leave it out. Unless they some how manage to make it were the farther your target is the less bloom you have.

Halo reach may not have had the best campaign but the online was a big step for the halo franchise. Mostly the ranking system and the armory. I liked the online though it was new and had many different ideas.

How was the campaign not all that great?

Completely diregarded previously established canon, characters were bland and uninteresting (The Leader, The Big Guy, The Eccentric Guy, The Chick, Tough Guy, and Silent Protagonist, all done a million times), the whole "you're doomed anyway, but try and strike a blow or two before you go down" angle isn't ever really that fun, lack of a "Warthog" level like in all the other Halo games...

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

Where have you been?
The only explanation is that you close your eyes whenever you read something you don't like.

No surprises here, you're awful at the game.
