PC gaming rules! It is superior to that of today's gaming consoles.

The console is merely a toy compared to today's top gaming rigs. The mouse and keyboard was made for gaming, especially RPGs, first person shooters, and especially RTS games.

yes, multiplayer is what keeps halopc alive to this day. IMO (please dont get offended) i think the single player campaign in halo1, is not even close to the great campaign levels of Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Halo 2, etc...

Oh, I agree. There are many games which are better, if not just as good as Halo. Half Life, Command and Conquer, Homeworld, the Doom series, Quake. The great list of PC games goes on. Except I don't think Halo 2's campaign is better than Combat Evolved's, but just as good.

Yeah, I thought so.

If you've got a decent computer, buy Halo PC. Some may find it disappointing as Halo PC could have been much better, but many still love it, as you would too.

I think for this CWAT guy you should elaborate on what you mean by "decent pc" so that he knows.

Personaly i don't find it dissapointing at all.. But then again i have NEVER played on XBox live lol

When I get home I will give you all my spec's. But I've been told the requiremants are lower than the requiremants of CS. And my computer runs well on CS.

When I say a "decent pc" I mean one that doesn't use integrated chipsets. If you've got an ATI or Nvidia card that would be great. Unless you've got one of the crappy older Nvidia cards, which are no better than integrated chipsets.

No, I'm talking about those really, really crappy cards that make Halo PC look like Star Fox on the Super Nintendo.

At least an Nvidia 6200 shows green grass, a blue sky, specular and shadows.

I've never played Star Fox (or Lylat Wars as it's known in England) on the SNES but i remember seeing it when i was younger in a computer store.. Looked pretty bad.. Then i played Lylat Wars 64 lol

I liked Star Fox on Super Nintendo, but I liked Star Fox 64 even better. Those graphics pwned, especially for a console.

Chances are, you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed.

Go download the patch, and you should be fine.

Let me get this straight...Halo Combat Evolved is Halo PC?

Not only that, but Halo Combat Evolved is also the name for Halo for Macintosh.

Someone in the naming department didn't get their daily dose of caffine when they came up with the names for the Halo family of games.

Ah, my bad. You don't have the full version of the game (yet) I forgot, you're doing the demo.

Right under "Trial Version" if you look it says:

Note: If you experience any compatibility problems with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and 256MB video cards, please download the strings.dll file below:

Download the file below and follow the instructions. Do that and you're good to go.
