I do not agree with the whole "Banshee is OP" crap, but the Gauss Hog might be a different story. Idk, I'll have to wait for personal experience before I can give my opinion on it.
The Banshee is a case of being Overpowered and Underpowered at the same time, but the Gauss Hog? A 3 year old who knows how to aim can abuse the thing wildly. A player that knows the Gauss can shoot through forge objects and almost anything else practically becomes a god. Add in a decent driver, and the only thing that can stop them is a scorpion at close range.
Wrong. Gauss hogs are better at close-mid range than long range. In this game, gauss shots actually take time to travel, thus the further the distance, the easier it is to escape. Plus at close range with people using AL, Jetpack, Evade, it's easy to fly too high, avoid damage, and jump out of the way with those AAs. It's not OP. Plus the bumpy riding on that map, and most people already being 5 stories above you, really won't make that much of a difference.
That doesn't stop good players from using it as an armoured highly mobile rapid fire sniper rifle. Jetpack, please. AL, just shoot the user and he'll likely instantly pop out of it due to AL meter depleting when taking damage. Bumpy riding, stop on top of a hill or just drive slower.
The only thing that won't be a problem will be the fact that it won't be able to shoot you through walls, as the walls aren't forge pieces. But even then, you poke your head out, you'll be dead.
The Gauss hog is the vehicular equivalent of the Sniper.
