Subject: Headlong: The Gauss Hog

I like a strong gauss hog, it was very powerful in Halo 2 and 3 so they shouldn't change it.

The Gauss Warthog only appears on Headlong Anniversary, not Breakneck. You can only play Anniversary gametypes on Headlong Anniversary, and those gametypes have no AAs.

There is headlong and breakneck I think or somehting isn't it. The original headlong slayer blue spawn gets it. I can't remember about objective. It really isn't that bad a few pistols could wreck the gunner.

I played Crazy King and slayer (not anniv. slayer), I think, and it wasn't on it.

Love that map though. Like Timberland too.

Nobody complained about the Gauss in Halo 3 to my knowledge. Isn't it essentially the exact same as it was in that game?

Yeap prettyy much. It's why I'm not sure why people would complain now. If you can't kill the gunner it is you own fault if I get a perfection invincible.

You know what else I'm miffed about? The nerf and almost complete removal of Spartan Lasers. Those used to be a huge part of map control and strategy but now they're almost nowhere to be found. Such a shame...it's almost like every effort of development went into removing the layers of depth Halo gameplay once had in an effort to "level the playing field". It's evident everywhere, from Armor Lock to the Ranking system.

Please do not send me "recruitment messages" as I'm not interested in joining any groups currently.

It works fine IMO. There's plenty of indoor places on Headlong where the Warthog can't get too, and the hog can also only target one person at a time. It's not hard to pop out of a high window and get a couple of sniper shots into it while it's pre-occupied.

Just like the Banshees on Breakpoint, people complaining need to realise that the game cannot be built around people searching alone. Full parties do play this game, and when they match each other these "overpowered" vehicles become no different to any power weapon on the map in that they're necessary for control but only an exceptional player (or pair of players as the Gauss hog goes) will be able to control the game with just their vehicles.

tl;dr, "overpowered" vehicles are fun for party vs party scenarios. Removing them just dumbs the game down.

Hmm. There are a few more than I thought I guess (don't play BTB much because my friends dun wanna). Even so, the rest of my post stands.

You know what map was AWESOME in terms of strategy and balance? Standoff. Aside from a few questionable spawns (why am I spawning outside in the path of incoming Warthogs when there's an unoccupied base for me to spawn inside?) the map was almost perfect for either Slayer or Objective.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a banshee whore. It makes up roughly 5% of my kills.

- Similar red-reticule auto-lock-on to Revenant-sniping.

- Reticule will become red at massive ranges (across map).

- Firing speed makes 10-second Killionaires possible.

In my first game of Headlong I got an Unfrigginbelievable Perfection. Without even trying, at least half their team was in an effective spawn trap for most of the game, as spawns are relatively predictable.
