Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

The Halo Community has officially turned 10 years old. Ten! That's crazy to think about. I'm sure most of you played Halo 1 at or shortly after launch. To put it in to better perspective... think of what you were then.

I know, right?

I was a 12 year old 7th grader who had owned a Playstation 2 for a year, and was pretty sure he was about to throw his hat in the Sony ring. Then Xbox came at Christmas, and as I was looking for which game to play first (I tended to lean toward sports games back in the day) my brother told me I should try this game Halo that he recommended my parents buy. I didn't know anything about it at the time (lol no google lol) but once my brother said "This game was made by the same guys that made Marathon" ... well that was enough, I was in. Even though I had played the occasional FPS before, it hasn't been the same since.

And here I am, ten years later. Without Halo I probably would have ditched the Xbox for the Playstation, never would have found my way to this website, and never would have discovered Xbox Live, as this website was where I heard about it first all those years ago. I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I unwrapped that christmas present... and I don't know where the time has gone since. If I could go back in time and talk to my former self about what was to come... I don't know where I'd even start.

So yes, Halo Anniversary launches today. I'll pick it up at some point during the week and I'll enjoy the same campaign I've beaten hundreds of times before, and will beat hundreds of times more. But it won't be about the graphics, it won't be about the maps, and it won't be about the terminals. It'll be a celebration of a decade of memories. It's fun to look back to a time when my mind had to handle nothing but a ring world, and my hands had to handle nothing but an oversized controller.

And while some within the community may have argued over many things over the last ten years, from the BR to armor lock and everything in between... you're still here.

So thanks for the last 10 years Bungie. Here's to 10 more.

Troll confirmed. I never even insulted you

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Dang man, you're pretty old.

I've been here since Halo 3, but I've been lurking since Halo 2. I never really wanted to make an account back then because I didn't want to lie about my age. But I've been playing Halo since release since my friend recommended it to me too. =/

I still don't lie about my age. I joined when I was 16, now 19. I'm still young, and I hope to be here for a while.

It's not that I'm crazy... It's just that, you're not as far out there as I am.

Happy birthday community!

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

And here's to another with Bungie's next project!

I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

Ten years ago today, i was a little over a week out from turning 11. Didn't play CE until about halfway through the year, when my brother introduced me to it.

Love at first sight.

Started coming to Bungie.net a little before the launch of Halo 2, didn't make an account until i got the game for my birthday/beat it on legendary.

Love ya, Bungie.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

Ten years ago I was happily playing CE. Now I feel old and depressed.

My first experience was playing Halo CE at a friend's house.

We were all way too young to play the game, but we all loved it.

I then got Halo CE for myself along with Halo 2, and then it is suddenly ten years later?

HOLY CRAP!

I'm quickly popping into town to grab a copy of CE Anniversary for some old-school throwdowns in the 2001 graphics.

I was 8 when Halo was released. Just 8. I remember my parents bought me a Crystal Xbox with Burnout and Halo: Combat Evolved, which was a step up from my PS2 adventures on Spyro and Crash. Needless to say, Halo shaped me into the gamer I am today (and Burnout made me love racing games). Thanks, Bungie, for ten years of awesome. Just because I didn't like Reach as much as previous Halo games, it doesn't mean to say that I don't appreciate the huge effort you guys put into it.

As Halo said, here's to another ten years. Will I still be here when I'm 28? Who knows...

Thank you Bungie for making such an amazing game. It changed many of our lives.

I look forward to the next 10 years and the next IP.

I joined the site during the Halo 3 era. But I've been playing Halo since 2004. Started with Halo 2 went back to CE and have played every single one since then. Except Anniversary it hasn't come yet. :(

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

Halo only made me discover Bungie.

Ever since, I have been following Bungie through tough times. Even when everything was dull and full of stress, Halo, the Bungie Community and Bungie themselves always cheered me up.

Thanks for 10 years of more than just games, Bungie. <3

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Hooray! Game stop opens in 2 hours. I will be picking up Halo. Happy is for cheaper. Cheers to 343 and Bungie.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I started playing Halo in the "mid" Halo 2 era.

Wish I would of found Halo CE in it's prime, I had a PS2 during that time. :/

I am excited to finally re-play Halo CE, remastered and on live.

Make Bungie.net More Enjoyable: Read & Follow

Although the tenth anniversary of the Halo Trilogy's commencement is certainly a date of celebration, I should remember that it will only be the first of many anniversaries, each being more widely celebrated. We'll have Halo 3's tenth, Halo's 25th, 50th, 100th, and beyond.

I'll be gone before all that, but while I'm still here, I can offer my thanks and congratulations to Bungie for composing the greatest artistic and poetic manifestation of Western literature since Classical times, perhaps even, in all of human history.

I was 14 when I first got my hands on Halo ten years ago...
It's so weird to see that this site is made up of a number of people who are younger than I was when I first started playing Halo...

I guess I shouldn't look down on them too much for their silly pony nonsense and the like :P
