In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I wish I was here back in 2001 when it was all about Myth, Oni, and Marathon but I would of been 7. :p

I am glad I started coming here at the right time for a new Bungie series.

Apparently Myth was the -blam- back in the day. A good amount of people still play it.

That was originally what the site was for, no? Making an account linked to your copy of Myth or sommat?

Yup, that's exactly it. Although I played Myth, and Oni was my favorite game before Halo, I didn't come around the site until Halo came out. Back then, internet wasn't quite what it is today, and Bungie.net was my first experience with an online community/forum.

Fun fact: I joined the site under a different username before I got the "mrsmiley" nickname, which is when I created the account in August, 2002 that I'm using right now. Huzzah.

Is that still available somewhere I don't know about? I don't recall seeing a place to enter in a Myth activation code.

Someone's active today. I got a PM from you and I saw you post two times in a day! What was your original username?

Cool avatar

I am glad I found Myth, Oni, and Marathon becuase they are just as fun as Halo. But many people today don't know Bungie made any other games OTHER than Halo, even in the universe forum a topic about Myth leads to confusion. :/

I wish however I would of made an account here sooner. I think my fault was for a while I used to play Halo CE and Halo 2 with my friends' xboxs' becuase I didn't get an xbox until a few years ago. And back at 01' I never really heard of Myth or Oni which sucks becuase I would of totally played them for a long time.

I am sure that was taken off the site years ago once Take 2 took over. Now that we have Marius.net, we don't need activation codes.

Kind of wondering why your avatar is implying that Honey Mustsrd is better than BBQ Sauce... When, in reality, it's the other way around...

So thanks for the last 10 years Bungie. Here's to 10 more.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Agreed.

Marathon was my first Bungie game. Wish I had dropped by here years ago, I love this place. But I suppose I can't change the past. To ten years of Bungie success and to ten more.

CEA was my first Bungie game. Lol, I've tried to play Marathon and stuff, but I didn't really like it, to be honest. #BungieNoob

If I stare up at the sky in Marathon, it can make me have a headache or motion sickness becuase the background doesn't move.

YES. Want a blast from the past? Here's one of the themes that won. (NOTE: Don't worry about the stupid virus warning if you get it. Not sure why HBN is still on the warn list, but I can assure there is no malware.) It was added as a standard theme choice before the major redesign... so many years ago. It's soo bad. Wow, and I even put my name on the bottom? How lame.

As an extra treat, here's the Halo Babies theme that Gruntsbane and I both worked together on for the original 7th Column. Yes, before even the first redesign. Old school like that. :P

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

The Halo Community has officially turned 10 years old. Ten! That's crazy to think about. I'm sure most of you played Halo 1 at or shortly after launch.
