So thanks for the last 10 years Bungie. Here's to 10 more.
May your neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
Angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

Ah bungie. You're like a friend that has always been there for me. Though I haven't fully agreed with all of your decisions in the past, the fact that you've done so well for yourself makes my heart warm.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

Man, I was only nine when CE came out. I didn't find out about the Halo series until Halo 2 came out, then I was hooked ever since.

I just wished I'd joined the site sooner, but I didn't even think to look for a Bungie site until last year.

Cool avatar

1337 16 year-old-photoshop skills. ROFL. Every time I see my avatar I think of Sketch. Aah, the good old days.

Not even kidding I went to make a sandwich yesterday and I opened the fridge and found a half empty bottle of honey mustard in the back and I immediately thought back to the old days of MSXL with the old avatar.

And you show up here a day later? Doesn't seem like a coincidence to me...

That means every birthday you've had since you've turned 7, I've died a little bit on the inside.

Sounds like how we'd describe most of our long time friends, doesn't it?

Smiley, assuming you return to this thread, you mind me asking what that initial account you joined up on Bungie.net was named?

Ol' Halo53 is only creating a thread once every ten years so I'm going to embrace the moment.

The one he linked doesnt count >_> He must have thought he was in a private group.

It was 12 days before my 14th birthday when I joined Bungie.net. Soon I will be turning 21. I've spent many hours here on Bungie.net.

Good times were had back then.

And they shall continue into the future.

all joking aside, i actually made REAL LIFE friends through bungie.net. i also have tons of great memories of giant 16-player LAN parties where i made even more friends. also, my years with halobabies.net taught me web design, community management, and many other skills that i've used today at my real job! my video work on the 2003 Bungie Fanfest Documentary (youtube it) got me started on a path of video editing that is still used to this day. overall, i definitely don't see my halo community involvement as a waste. ;)

I was trying to highlight the word "wasted" to imply drunkenness. I've enjoyed my time here and have met many nice people.

Oh I got that, trust me. I've had far too many wonderful "beer Halo nights" not to get what you were implying. ;)

Gosh. I feel so young. I've only been here for...Yeesh, not even three years! Ha, I guess they have been alright. I can't say anything 'remarkably special' has happened to me (on this website) over that period of time though.

I've met some great people, but I have yet to experience so many things i.e. I still haven't made it to PAX, or any gaming convention for that matter.

don't worry, it's not really your fault. as stosh implied in this thread, groups really aren't what they used to be back when they were called "chapters". in the good old days, each chapter was basically it's own little mini website that let you create polls, add various content, and really customize things to what you wanted. because they were more than essentially just forums with news (which is basically what groups are), there was more opportunity for community involvement, events, contests, etc. there also was more attention given to community spotlights and so on. unfortunately, it's much more difficult to give so much focus to the community when the community itself has become absolutely massive. i know there are bigger plans in the pipeline, but who knows when they'll come to fruition. bungie has an odd way of not releasing things until they are completely polished. ;)

Ha, my first account on here was my first and last name, I still sometimes login into by accident and post.
I made this account when I got xbox live, saying that though you can probably google it and find out my address as well as what I had for breakfast today. COME AT ME CREEPY ONLINE STALKERS!

Anyhoo, 10 years is a crazy long time, I remember playing CE at a friends house when I was about 15, I thought it was pretty cool but didn't really play it that much, it wasnt until I played Halo 2 online that I was like 'wow, this is amazing'.
That was the reason I came to b.net, I didnt come here to look at my stats because I didnt own an xbox, I logged in to look at my friends stats, thats how much I loved it.

I never realised there were forums for a while, I think I started rummaging around the website to see what else they had and came across the Halo 3 forum, a few months before Halo 3 was set to be released. It happened to be the exact same time Adjutant Reflex posted for the Halo 3 ARG.

I've always loved the social aspect of gameing, playing people on the other side of the world in real time and being able to have random chit chat with them seemed amazing (which is probably why it wasnt until Halo 2 and xbox live appeared that I got really into it), seeing everyone on the forums working together to solve these cryptic messages from Adjutant Reflex looked alot of fun so I started posting to help solve the clues.
Then I just kind of hung around when it was finished and here I am 4 and half years later still posting. Its been fun, and im sure theres still more lols to come.
TL:DR - probably too late for that now.

Yeah, I've learned to just go with the flow over the past couple of months. Progress being as slow as it is, there's not much else to do but speculate, and enjoy the friendships I have already built.
