CE on Legendary has always been ridiculous. I've never finished it...I was proud getting to The Library. Then I ragequit forever.

Your disappointment seems legitimate.

My main problem is the way the Elites run. They don't have that same running technique as in Reach anymore. And they picked a Spec-Ops Elite as the Stealth Elite. I would have preferred an Ultra.

No point to it, when you think about it.

After playing through all but one of the Halo games (Wars) I tried going back to CE, and it was indeed a lot harder. I think ODST and Reach made us forget what a really hard game is like xD

I agree after CE halo became more and more about the kids who were complaining they couldn't win so they desided to narrow the difficulty down

Still the best campaign even after 10 years. I played it for hours yesterday on co-op campaign and I'm still only up to Keyes.

Graphics look really good though they've all gained some weight. The red elite's new look...meh. A friend called him the Christmas elite. I laughed.

I don't remember the Scorpion being so off-target. Guess I'll have to hook up to xbox and try it on the old game.

Halo CEA is poor attempt at 343 establishing themselves as the new 'halo developers'. You'd think that by playing this game, it would be a remodel and improvement of the original game and storyline, with better effects, better rendering of objects, better gameplay, and better flow throughout...

Nope, chuck testa!

Even the box says 'improved gameplay'. What a joke.

You'd think that 343 would've taken an iconic game from 10 years ago and improve the graphics to what we see today? Nope, chuck testa. Instead you get graphics from 2006, barely matching Halo3. I think its great watching my friend's spartan skate around the level, rather than walk. This isn't a hockey game were we're expecting our players to glide around... they're walking, and the graphics should indicate as such.

What 343 basically did was take the original Halo CE game, improved the graphics a bit... A BIT, and released it. Thanks 343... I could've popped in my original disk and get the exact same thing. I really enjoyed running down huge expanses of trees and grass on levels that are too big to be really appreciated. Its ok that the original game had that, its not ok that you copied it exactly.

And way to be creative with the details. Running through the Pillar of Autumn's many levels never looked so boring. Seriously? You think you would actually make the details a little more interesting as you went deeper into the game, even though its just the first level? Nope, chuck testa. Thanks for the attempt, but I now understand that enhanced gameplay from you now means "we took the 4 pixel faces and improved them to 16... but everything else looks the same". Thats ok, now I can see that every single room/hallway is the exact replication of the last... and that creative ingenuity is lost in the spartan era as it is in your development studio.

I'd like to take this time to thank 343 for the poor rendering of objects. While trying to snipe an enemy from behind a rock, I had to back up more than required in order to get a proper shot that wouldn't be blocked by the imaginary outline of the rock infront of me. Even though I could see the enemy clearly, its as if the silver lining of the rock wasn't actually silver at all, but fully clear, and fully bullet proof.

The movements are delayed. Jumping requires an anticipation of when you land, as opposed to an expectation. Aside from your 2 ton spartan somehow floating through the air when jumping, why is it that I'm pressing the A button a second time before his feet even leave the ground?

I enjoyed the magnum in CE. Even in Halo 2 and 3 for the most part. But please explain this. You have a pistol, that has apparently received an increase in power, and its original scope back. So why is it that when shooting at enemy grunts in the distance, headshots don't kill them? In fact, I need to pump as many shots into them as I would at a short distance without a headshot. Needless to say, why is there a scope on a weapon that doesn't respond as a scoped weapon should? Why not put a scope on the shotgun next...

Another issue (yes, another... great job 343) I understand if you wanted to take the lazy way out with the actual game, but you couldn't in any way shape or form improve the menu system? I wouldn't be surprised if there are less options in this menu system than the original. You couldn't add on those extra appreciative icons for players to know just what they can and can't do that the other games already have? Why aren't there any medals in the campaign... so I know when I get a triple or overkill? Why must my players be in a certain state in order to be joined... heck, why are my options so limited with other players?

I believe one of the best problems with the game is how you can manipulate the dropships. Ever get to a point where a dropship is about to land more enemies before the ship gets there? Well it'll stay in the air, hovering, stalling the game (even the music stops) until you literally move back enough for it to not only land but roll around as well. Then it comes down. Absolutely hilariously pathetic. Sure, slow down the already slow game some more. Its bad enough that I need a taxi and subway to get to where the action is on the map because its so big and my spartan feet can only glide so far, but indicating that I can't be proactive... well thats just the cherry on the top!

This game has co-op campaign that can be played with random people over the internet. That is fantastic. However, you'd expect that at this day and age you can join an inprogress game at any time, right? Nope, chuck testa... at least with Halo games. All the others seem to have it down pat, where as with this one if a new player wishes to join the group, the game must be quit and restarted again with everyone in it (and pray that none of them drop or have to leave early).

Lastly, could you have at least purchase some newer servers to host the game on? Why is it that with Halo CEA I've so far spent more time re-playing levels with my friends because of a glitch rather than being killed? More than enough times during a respawn or change in scenery (or even changing the graphic resolution to match the retro graphics with the retro gameplay) the game lags horribly or glitches. Either I'm stuck with a blackscreen even though my friend sees me moving, or he's stuck standing still even though I see him moving, or the best, we both can move, and neither of us has a weapon! I find this is best experienced near the end of a level where you can't really advance as a result, and you need to quit and restart the level again. Oh, whats that? Checkpoints, like 2/3 major checkpoints where you can restart from similar to Reach? NOPE, CHUCK TESTA... back to the end of the line we go.

Thanks 343, you've not only dropped the ball, but you reprogrammed it back to an 8-bit ball. I played this game for 3 hours and became more frsuterated with each passing minute. And I was only able to finish the first two missions, which would've been more had it not been for the 'no gun glitch' or 'grenade sticks to yourself' glitch, or my favorite, the 'grunt taking a piss behind the bush freezes you with its mean stare' glitch.

Whats best is you release MP maps for Reach in fantastic detail that it makes your work with Halo CEA even that much more dispairing. I'm literally debating whether to continue wasting my time with this replay of a game I already play in the same environment and design as it was originally played in. Zero (0) has been improved/enhanced/made better than the original. Hell, Cortana even looks like she put on weight!

Thanks for the disappointment. Can't wait for Halo 4 to come out...

I've noticed the lag. Lip-synching is off. Still, I do consider Halo CE to be hardest, simply because of the really long levels. I have to give props on giving the weapons a kick. When I pull the trigger, I feel like a bad-ass. AR ftw.
