What a hipster.

They're still doing this?!

Before we begin... Put together by Commander GX and Rokit
Credits for Help: Jacob Crawford, Bricypoo, Mr. AwesomePizza, Spartan TKIA, The Kangol Kid, machinimagames, and acnboy34.

The story behind the idea; as seen in Weekly Review 1.
Lately I've noticed an uproar in complaints about users wanting the weekly updates back, but the fact of the matter is Bungie is dark, and I anticipate they're going to stay that way for some time. So I thought, "if we can't have the Weekly Update, why don't we put together the next best thing?" A Weekly Review where the members can interact, and add what they feel was important or funny in the weeks past.

I know it's not as exciting, but it's better than nothing.

Rokit's Write Up
Authors Note: I changed things up a little bit, you guys will understand as I write this.

Good afternoon,

Week six of these reviews, it's been a great run - technically four for me writing these. I can definitely say that I've loved writing these; doing so has allowed to me explore my writing potential. For those of you that love reading this, thank you - it's been a pleasure writing for you. Life has caught up with me and it needs my tending - hopefully I can have the pleasure of writing another when I get back in a few more weeks.

So, I'm deciding to change it up; instead of throwing in puns, using lame jokes, and entertaining irony - I'm going to do that with entertaining videos! Some will be elaborate - others not so much. So, as a fair well, I'm shooting for teh lulz. If you enjoy it about as much as I've enjoyed writing these, then my goal will be accomplished.

Bungie.net Member Accounts in the future - evilcam

First thought.

I've been well traversed with WLID for quiet some time; only because I've had to troubleshoot so many problems of my own. Really, it's eerily similar to my favorite childhood toy. I would absolutely love an upgrade to Bungie's own linking profile system. It would be good news, for everyone.

Bungie.net now supports HTTPS? - Duardo
Compialation of Purposed Features I'd like - dazarobbo

Do want.

what genre do you think bungie's next game will be? - levi zwijn

What you want!?!?

What is your opinion of forum titles? - Der Flatulator6

Meh. I've never really been one for forum titles; at first I was like, then I was like. Since the reveal that Forum Titles won't be staying, I've just been doing what every normal person would do - partying.

At what instances will moderators delete threads? - thenewxegk

Leave the moderators alone!

ok how long did it take you to figure the bungie logo out? - mvyorkie009

I can honestly say that I've never thought about the Bungie logo that way. For enlightening my week, here's something in return.

The Revolution is Upon Us! - Revelata Secreto

Viva la Revolution!

Really though, this is going back to the whole title situation - which you all know how I feel about that.

On a scale of 1 to 10, How much of a fanatic are you? - dmg04

I can honestly say that I'm really not that much, I'm more of a fan of you guys - <3

Which moderator... - coolcor13

It depends - how much do they know their stuff? I mean really, I'd much rather have an honest man, than a self-destructive person.

Community Tips for New Members? - dmg04

Absolutely! As a new member it's very intimidating, the least we can do is guide them.

Well fella's that's all I have for you. I hope you've enjoyed it - even if it isn't a wall of text; it's been a pleasure - don't be too hard on my replacement; and remember what your mother told you as a kid, I don't want you going blind before I come back.

What a hipster.

This time around we really focused on the Interview. Enjoy!

Step back, we're gonna need some room for this one!

The InterviewThe Storm

Q: Who are you and what do you do?

A: My name is James, I'm 17, live in Manchester UK. I was born in Wilmington, Delaware USA due to parents' occupations and moved to England when I was 15 months old. I may get an American passport one day for funsies. Ok, now let's skip 16 years because the rest of it is pretty dull (apart from pre-6 where everything is colourful and magical). I now go to a local grammar school, studying Maths Biology Chemistry and Geography for A2 (no idea how that translates into American education). Interestingly enough I actually go to school within a 1km radius of two other bungie.net goers (who I won't name because that's rude). I play water polo and have played for 7 years, we won the national U18 final last year which was pretty coo'. I want to study Geology at university, first choice being Imperial, then jet off into the oil industry.

Q: Water Polo eh? To be honest I have no idea how to play that lol. How did you come up with your username?

A: Well my gamertag used to be Cox153. Generally little kids on xbox live loved to make phallic connotations so I thought god damn I just want to play some games. I was lying on the sofa doing some thinking about what I'd like and I thought I'd scroll through a list of Halo 3 missions. I saw The Storm and it kind of stuck. Now I'm rooting for Aztec the moment it becomes available as that's my irc nick.

Q: If you could have any super power which would you chose and why?

A: I would like the power to secret cold chocolate milk from my sweat glands in replace of sweat. Honestly, just imagine how easy it would be to pick up hot chocoholic girls if you previously had hyperhydrosis, they'd be all "Hey BLEEP why don't we BLEEP in BLEEP so BLEEP BLEEP" and I'd be all yeaaaaaaaa. Alternatively I'd like BLUE FLAME THINGY. You know that confusing power that some superheroes have where they just fire blue flames from their hands. That way I'd be warm in the mornings after I've used Original Source Minty flavour. I mean come on who the hell puts an active ingredient that makes you colder in a shower gel in ENGLAND.

Q: Is there anyone on Bungie.net who has really helped you during hard times in life?

A: Oh indeed so, I signed up in 2008 before my 14th birthday, so going through the bulk of puberty with a fallback being communities on the website really helped. Although some people may have no idea what they are talking about you get some really wise old grizzled ancient fossils (like a Cobrasaur) on here that have kids of their own who can give some kickass advice. I won't mention names because honestly I only remember a few and it wouldn't be fair to highlight a fraction; but the people would know.

Q: That is really cool how Bungie.net helped you in real life. What have you always wanted to do?

A: I have ALWAYS wanted to play a first person shooter such as Call of Duty or Battlefield with a team and actually use proper teamwork. Back before I bought a games console I played Halo CE and CSS online, and the only thing I ever did was coordinate one move on New Mombassa Classic (which was actually on the custom edition). It was probably the most fun I have ever had and it's been nearly a decade since that time.

Q: Eh, I'm not gonna lie. I'm more of the run and gun type lol. Any interesting life experiences?

A: I think I'll focus on the most traumatic experience of my childhood. It sparked negative inclinations towards the entire French people. My conversation with Commander:

<CommanderGX> What did the french ever do to you
<aztec> well
<aztec> commander
<CommanderGX> yes
<aztec> i shall tell you what the french did to me
<aztec> i was young
<aztec> i would say around 7 or 8
<aztec> i was in turkey at a resort of club med near a town called kwasidasi
<aztec> club med is a holiday company overthrown by cowardly pantysniffers
<aztec> every day my parents would abandon me to the "kids club"
<aztec> except it wasn't the kids club
<aztec> it was some french name that i didnt understand because I DIDN'T SPEAK A WORD OF FRENCH
<aztec> unluckily for me, NO ONE SPOKE A WORD OF ENGLISH
<aztec> so i was chillin
<aztec> on my own
<aztec> in a pool
<aztec> surrounded by copious amounts of children's urine as is usually the case in children's pools
<aztec> i was playing with a nice boat
<aztec> it was about 8 inches long
<aztec> 4 inches wide
<aztec> and 2 inches tall
<aztec> it was a red boat
<aztec> i was bobbing it up and down
<aztec> pretending that there was this storm going on
<aztec> AND THEN THIS FRENCH GUY
<aztec> COMES ALONG
<aztec> SLAPS ME IN THE FACE
<aztec> AND TAKES MY BOAT.
<CommanderGX> LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Q: Wow. Anyways, What is your Favorite activity to do during your free time?

A: Other than gaming? I guess I like to work on my motorbike. Weeelll, when I say work on my motorbike I mean my dad's motorbike, and when I say work on it I mean watch him. Just kidding. It's his 30 year old BSA Bantam D10 and 2 years ago we started renovating it, it's still an on-going activity which is good but the reason it's on-going is because it's really bad.

Q: Lol, I know how that goes. Favorite life moment?

A: Toughie, I would actually say it was quite recently, almost two weeks ago. I was in Florida on holiday with two friends and my girlfriend. If anyone has ever played online with me and gotten really annoyed by some of my local friends being annoying and betraying everyone... that was them. Anyway, we were at Sea World riding the Kraken and as we were on the chain lift I just realised I was on my favourite roller coaster in my favourite holiday destination with my three best friends.

Q: That is awesome bro, Favorite type of pie?

A: The 3.1415926535 kind

Q: Any shoutouts?

A: I don't want to be that guy who lists all the people they've ever said hello to, so I'll try and group them together. Minecrafters, #bungienet (except you blink, screw you), the people from bnet that are on my FL and haven't been mentioned, then Tom Benjamin Matt Adam mib_asf0s Ian Kayla Craig Theo and I guess Sy

Q: And of course I have to ask you this: How do you eat your oreos?

A: I crush them, filter them through petrol, cut them with chocolate chip cookies and inject them straight into the blood

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

In a recent 'Weekly Review', I stated (much to the dislike of many users) that I didn't like your last interview. However, this one was pretty good.

Well done and good job! (If that means anything to you coming from me)

I tweet?

Pretty good, pretty good.

I'm Gourlay, I'm only here because I didn't know we had the option to leave.

A HUGE improvement from last week (or whenever the last one of these were made)! Nice work Commander.

What exactly is the difference between this and last week?

  • 11.16.2011 5:25 AM PDT

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Good jobs guys.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Why did you bump this 4 day old thread?

OT: these are always fun but can be boring on weeks when nothing really happens.

yeah i see you post from time to time, it's just for like a few moths last year you didn't post atall in the flood so everyone thought you had left

Stupidity, when sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic

I'm not volunteering (I'm not here enough and have to practice my sax like hell), but you should have a special reporter on the flood, just to give an overview of where some of the mayhem is trending. Might be interesting.
