So was Reach's population decline a result of its different game mechanics, the increased competition, or did the series finally reach its natural end (or was it something else)?

Anyone that tries to conclusively say one way or the other should get a very long lesson in the Scientific Method, and then be laughed at by real scientists who know how to prove hypotheses.

Your posts are always sweet, to the point, and truthful.
The game, when it came out, did not have the features that people were looking for in a Halo game. There was just not the same flow of game play. Yeah, it was odd going from H2 to H3, but it was still Halo to the fans. H3-HR? Not so much.
