In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Funny, I thought ODST had one of the best Halo campaigns.

1.Nice name.

2.I think Bungie's a good developer.
I've thouroughly enjoy all their games since Halo 2( Never could get my hands on CE) except Halo Wars.
The Graphics are great, and honestly, graphics don't make a game.

Also, I seem to be the only one who likes Reach for what it is.
A different way to Halo.

P.s. ODST arguably had the most compelling campaign out of all of them.

halo hasn't been a real top shelf game since H2.
Halo 3 is one of the best games to have been released on the 360. I don't entirely rely that on my opinion either, the sales figures, game activity and life span support that.

  • 11.16.2011 12:05 PM PDT

Although Reach isn't as awesome as some of the previous games in the Halo series, I still have confidence in Bungie's abillity to create something amazing given a completely blank slate.

A steady income of fungus-free donuts and a bottomless coffee dispenser...

OT: Ya know, I think that they really are a great company, mainly because Halo is my all time favorite game. That's what got me interested in them. If it wasn't for that game, I wouldn't be posting on these forums, and neither would many others who are members of this website. They revolutionized the way many people, myself included, see video games.

Sure there have been spots in a game developers' history where one game isn't as good as compared to one of their other games, but that how it is with every game developer.

Look at Infinity Ward: they created a kick-ass game that got people's attention. After their first game, it was just repetitive until Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. After that, it was still repetitive, but they at least tried something different than keep with the WWII games. Are they a terrible developing company because of that? No. It just means that they can do so much better when they decide to make a new game series.

But this isn't about them. I was just using an example to further reinforce the statement in the second paragraph. So basically, I think they are a great developer altogether. But, that's just my opinion. You have yours, and I respect that.

Xhavalor is amazing <3

I have always believed in Bungie and they are my faviroute game developer. Not just because of Halo. I liked Marathon and I am still to this day a big fan of ONI.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

Reach was awful for me, sorry. It didn't satisfy my love for Halo and I know I'm not alone. So the answer for now is no. We'll see when their next IP is announced and released.

No, because everything has gone completely downhill since H3.

Key

Halo 3: best selling halo game of all time

Halo: ODST: amazingly immersive FPS with an awesome "Film Noire" feel. Still one of the top 15 best selling 360 games of all time.

Reach: it's no gem but it's still in that top 15 with ODST. Quite an accomplishment.

Which subpar next gen games are you referring to, OP?

It's hard to judge them at the moment considering they're in the middle of their next project. This question would make much more sense to be asked AFTER they launch the next game.

ODST's music doesn't make up for everything else Bungie has ruined.

-H3's matchmaking the last 2 years before reach
-H3's ridiculously easy campaign
-ODST being overpriced
-Halo Reach's:
Campaign
Matchmaking
Gameplay in general

and Halo CEA just came out, and it's basically just a glorified Reach map pack. Too bad Bungie didn't think of the fact that armor abilities ruin how CE maps should be played. But at least Bungie learned from their mistake and only price it at $40 instead of $60. Still not worth it though since Reach was such a huge bust.

You do realize that Bungie had little to do with the creation of Halo CEA aside from creating the original game that the remake was based off of right? Bungie had nothing to do with the pricing of the game or the decisions of which Halo CE maps would work well with Armor Abillities.

Meh you got me. Still bad though. I know Microsoft decides the pricing but you're naive if you think Bungie has absolutely no say in it.
