"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me"

- Batman

Here is a link

I am glad I resisted the temptation to reply myself...

But anyway, here is my question:

Do you think blanket bans are fair AND should they be used more / less often than they currently are?

My personal opinion is that doing them as one offs ever now and then are not fair. If you could reply to spam ever day of a month and not get banned, and then one day you just do, it doesn't really make sense and seems inconstant. However I think if used on all threads that were against the rules (about religion, politics etc. as well as the example of spam) then it would be fair, and people just would stop making threads that are against the rules.

Blanket bans should be used, but much more frequently (but they should not be banned for longer than a week if part of a blanket ban).

Discuss.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

And there were no survivors...

That is kind of dumb, mods need to be more consisitant.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

My favorite part was when it was accidentally unlocked and people who posted after the bans were presumably also banned.

It is possible posts were just deleted after the accidental unlock.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I approve, however the bans need to be more permanent.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

That's fine by me. The OP should be permabanned and everyone who quoted his links deserved bans also.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

They are not unfair. When you post in a thread that is breaking the rules you take your life, and your ability to post, into your own hands.

Ya dun good Qbix, ya dun good.

Replying to spam is like speeding. Do a lot of people do it? Yes.
Does it make it any less against the rules? No.

There is replying to spam and then there is replying to obvious threads that are against the rules. While there should technically be no difference between the two, this topic was obviously over the line and should have been reported and sent on it's way.

Makes sense. However, I see a lot of threads like that where just the OP gets banned. I have no problem with mass bannings, but it would be nice if it was more consistent.

It would make the consequences in responding to spam much less forgiving and people wouldn't do it. In theory.

Got a question, comment, or concern? PM me.

Replying to obvious spam threads should be bannable. If it isn't as obvious as what was in the OP then it shouldn't be IMO

Yeah, that's the main problem. We only need one guy to say "that's against the rules" in some situations; but in many cases like this, a single post wouldn't be worth it, because of the obvious trolling.

All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Yeah I only do it in super obvious cases like these. Honestly, the OP was just a picture of a male genitalia.
