The Gunman Division: Ace Gunman, xOmega Gunmanx, JT Gunman, xLost Gunmanx, (Op) Lone Gunman, Spade Gunman, Viper Gunman, Ysuran Gunman, BlindfireGunman, Angel, briskit1, dinjitsu2222, and Onobono. No idiots, please!

There is a thing called "moderator discretion", apparently Qbix decided to use it.

Are blanket bans fair? Depends on context of OP and the following posts. Obvious spam is obvious, yes?

Wait, that's a rule?! I'm supprised I haven't been banned lately.

Lol at sparten ken's post.

Yeah, although it's an easy to break rule (don't feed the trolls).

My Best Bungie moment: finally beating all the Halo games on solo legendary.
My Worst Bungie moment: not seeing giant stuffie grunts in the Bungie store.

I really don't see anything wrong.
The rules clearly tell you to not reply to spam. And some people just can't control their urge to "inb4lock".

Actually now that I look, the Forum rules have been updated since I looked last (about 3 years ago). They are sure a lot shorter than I remember.

I'm fine with it.

While we're on the subject, why didn't this thread see a blanket ban? As far as I know, actual privates were shown.

I'm probably going to get the whole, "different moderators; different methods" speech. Ah well.

I wonder if you'll be fine with it when a moderator deems a thread that you've posted in as deserving of a blanket ban?

Don't say you wouldn't post in a thread that could be blanket banned, because that's what most people who have been caught in a blanket ban had said.

It's hard to agree when you're on the receiving end of the hammer. I'll say that I'm okay with it now, but if/when I get caught up in a blanket ban, I'll be irate, I'm sure.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Qbix, you don't understand interpretive dance.

Got a question, comment, or concern? PM me.

I partially blame the mods for letting that thread get 73 posts before locking and banning everyone in the thread.

I realize they have lives too, but out of ~20 ninjas, you would think one would be on to do it quicker, so more people aren't punished than there needed to be.

  • 11.16.2011 6:22 PM PDT

I think blanket bans should take place. It helps users understand the severity of the rules, IMO.

  • 11.16.2011 6:28 PM PDT

This is the prelude to another Mythic Members extermination.

  • 11.16.2011 6:31 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

That might have been a little unfair, but I'm just glad I stayed out of there.

Yes, by exercising some common sense, you too can avoid getting an entirely deserved 3-day ban for bumping a thread made for the sole purpose of linking to inappropriate imagery.

Both of my bans were because I replied to parody threads, so nothing has changed all 5+ years I've been here. I don't think they are necessary fair, but my opinion means nothing. The purpose of banning the users is so they learn not to reply (bump) to those type of threads.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I believe Qbix did the right thing, that spam rule should be more enforced IMO.

Those are often called "thread locks."

Well it was a trick question, as you can't really see warnings...
Good answer, though ;)

Truth is a matter of perception.

lolnope.

Using my gamer tag eh? Probably never should've talked to Dawson and his boyfriend cena. -blam!-s... Just to clear things up, and this will probably raise up some suspicions about me too, I never had anything to do with that guy or that thread. Probably just someone trying to be funny and impersonate me and make me look like a jack ass.I already know I'm a bit of an ass, but yeah, didn't have anything to do with that crap thread. Kinda nervous right now. And if I was to actually do something like that, I would've tried to cover myself up a little better than that.

A reason to never ban blankets if ever I saw one.
