Troll confirmed. I never even insulted you

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

I'm fine with it.

While we're on the subject, why didn't this thread see a blanket ban? As far as I know, actual privates were shown.

I'm probably going to get the whole, "different moderators; different methods" speech. Ah well.
What is this, exterior organ day?
So many that it would make Cheney proud in that thread...

Anyways, I'm wondering if how it got to be that big without anyone noticing... O_O

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Not once have I been banned and in the process been given a blanket.

I demand justice.

But seriously, who the hell cares? It's an Internet gaming forum... If being banned for a few days irks you that much, you need to consider taking a break from the Internet. You reply to stupid crap, you get crapped on. You deserve it. End of story.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

For 99.99% of the threads ever made I would say that a blanket ban was excessive, but if the OP is a picture of male gentalia then unless you recently were lobotomized you should have the common sense not to post.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

So let me get this straight. Its ok to show beard picks... and not get banned... but to talk about the size of ones reproductive organs is a banable offense? Its the year 2011... Jk. Still.. blanket bans are silly.

Haha, that joke made me laugh...

If it's from the Flood Forum it is.

Any mods mind banning the racists in this thread?

If you're going to ban people for making jokes in a spam thread, why not ban the ones acting like jerks in a good thread?

Forget the racists, keelhaul the lot of em. Almost all the responses are childish and downright stupid.

Well, we have to draw the line somewhere. Let's worry about getting rid of the racists before we worry about the childishness.

The real question is, how did that thread managed to make to the second page? Was the moderator waiting for victims? <_<

Take a step back with me and enjoy a taste of the bittersweet that is our current generation.

I enjoy Battlefield and Call of Duty, and Gears of War.

20 years old, manager of my family's business, aspiring officer of the law.

I love anything political.

For anybody who is upset with the judgement, exercise even a mild bit of common sense and the ban would have been avoided. This action taken was entirely appropriate. What good could EVER come from a thread with that title?

Dead Mans Hand-Always Loaded.

I think how the blanket bans are used currently is exactly whats needed. Obviously if you're contributing to bumping up a thread with a shock-site link etc, you deserve to get the hammer.

I find threads questioning the banning process on this website humorous, considering all it takes is a little common sense and you'll be just fine. Of course, everyone may slip up from time to time.

If you've ever been a part of a different community, you should know that this one is extremely fair compared to most others, or at least most that I have been to.

The mods are not just bots, so complaining about inconsistency seems rather pointless. Obviously they need to have some sort of consistency, but if they were to start acting like everyone always suggests they should, this place would be a lot less fun.

I almost wish the mods would just take the most common suggestions of how they "should" do their jobs, and do just that for an entire month. It would really put things into perspective.

It actually was 3 (soon to be 4) pages. I was online when it happened and it seems that it was locked right when the moderator got online.

I'm worried I would of slipped up in a similar situation; I was actually there and I actually consciously decided that it was an obvious enough troll to just report and move on (although I didn't report because I noticed he was reported enough to be hidden anyway), especially with the high enough amount of replies in the topic.

I would of felt really bad for the first 1-5 who posted, if they posted more along the lines of "that's horrible" or "completely against the rules".

Everything you said, I mostly just completely agree with.

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

To be honest, blanket bans and banning sprees are probably one of reasons that the mods are able to be lenient without the users declaring anarchy. Believe it or not, I wrote that with a straight face. People like to toe lines, but they generally don't want to toe the edge of a bear's territory.

How would we manage that for longer then 10 minutes?

Whoo.

I think they should be applied more liberally, I mean, if someone makes a meatspin thread and several people bump it with "inb4lock" then they might as well have made the thread themselves.

They're bumping a meatspin thread with spam, hell you could see that as worse than actually making the thread, at least the thread itself broke only one rule instead of three.

Blanket ban for replying to spam is not something I agree with. That topic was fairly glaringly spam, but there is still a time and a place for banning someone for replying to spam. When they quote a near-character limit spam post, and then add 'lol' for example.

Yeah I only do it in super obvious cases like these. Honestly, the OP was just a picture of a male genitalia.
Yet you dont ban the -youknowwhat-spins. You just let them post it over and over and over and over for about 10-30 minutes.

Stop promoting stupid -blam!- by replying to it and this would be a non-issue.

I approve of blanket bans.
