How many people that play a game doesn't determine its success. Personally, I feel that a game is a success if people enjoy playing it. While most of us on the forums dislike Reach, most people enjoy it, so it's a success in my eyes.

If most people enjoy it.. why isn't it more played?

Your reasoning really makes no sense. So if someone likes a game, it is a success? Looks like Train Simulator 2011 is a success because there are a few people who enjoy it.

It's a success to those few people. Are you saying that they don't matter?

They can like the game, sure. Is it successful just because some people like it? No.

I see your point. However, just because a game has a small fanbase doesn't make it any less of a success.

like Demon Souls... few people own a copy (it sold less than 100k copies), but it's such an amazing title.

guys a game can succeed in 2 ways:
people who playing the game(the company made a game that people actually enjoy playing;company and people succeeds)

game is played by a lot of people and it is popular (company succeeds by making a ton of money and a good reputation; company succeeds)

Well seeing that Reach has a 200,00+ MP population on the week ends and a 100,00+ on the weekdays, it seems it's a success in your standards.

And that's at any given time. It usually gathers about 500,000 unique users every day, it's just down because of all of the really anticipated games that just released.

exactly, since release it has always gained 500,000+ unique people daily, while the current population maybe 40,000 the overall for that day was 500,000+ so i still wonder why people says its a fail when its receives more than half a million players a day. and it wont take people long to realize that mw3 sucks and is the exact same game as blops and mw2 and then cod will fall

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

My main dislikes about Reach is the campaign, multiplayer maps, and firefight.

Campaign:
-The dialog is pathetic.
-Friendly A.I. is horrible.
-Nobel Team has hardly any character development.
-Noble Team can barley kill a Grunt.
-Almost every level was about activating switches.
-If you read Halo: The Fall of Reach. You would expect Reach would be something like that. But it wasn't we ran around the levels in the typical Halo style.
Checkpoint A Go to Checkpoint B. You encounter a small Covenant squad on the way.
Checkpoint B Go to Checkpoint C You encounter a small Covenant squad on the way.
Checkpoint D: Go to Checkpoint E You encounter a small Covenant squad on the way.
*Level ends.*
-Basically Bungie failed to capture the invasion of Reach.

Multiplayer Maps:
-The default non-forge maps are copied areas from the campaign. That's being really creative Bungie.
-The DLC maps are a disgrace to Halo. When you compare them to Halo 2, and Halo 3 DLC maps. It's sad that the remake DLC maps are the only good maps in Reach.
-Forge World. It's the same environment for the whole map.

Firefight:
-The maps are not made for defending in one area.
-ODST firefight was about survival. Now it's getting the highest score. While running around with the Rocket Launcher.

I'm struggling to think of something to put here...

Wow. People still play Black Ops?

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

For the love of god, it's under a FIFA GAME.
