Why do you feel personally attacked, while I haven't even directed my post against you?
I'm not even going into discussion with you on that behalf.
And no: if you play Anniversary Slayer for instance, there is NO Bloom, and there are NO AA's. And guess what: even though you also get a hybrid Reach-CEA playlist (with altered AA's and reduced Bloom) people always vote for Anniversary mode...
What? I don't feel attacked. Thats why I quoted. It's just how I write. Don't tell me I wrote all that for nothing.
You sounded as if felt attacked by my post, and I'm not in a mood to start a "war" right now ;)
As for Reach being a true Halo: it has all the classic elements:
- Covenant
- UNSC - Spartans
- It's important place within the Universe
- The gameplay is as you'd expect from a Halo game
- The music, while not as epic as H2's or ODST's for instance, are typically Halo
- The multiplayer is typically Halo in how it functions etc.
It's a real Halo in every sense of the "word". Take the leveldesign for instance: every level is a homage to one of the great levels from all the Halo's before it.
The only things that make it "different" are the AA's (but to be honest, in that aspect H3 also burned its fingers on Equipment), Bloom, and it's more gritty looks (which I personally liked after H3 went overboard on the coloring and almost became a parody on itself). Now I can understand people don't like the looks, but that doesn't make it less Halo. And sure: AA's like AL were annoying as hell and Bloom is better off gone. But play Reach today with the TU rules applied and you'll find a game thats not that different from H3 for instance.
It's like Halo Wars: yes, it's different but it's still 100% Halo in every way.
