I am sure many of the Ninjas have muddled with 1000's of spam threads, but how do you actually confirm the link is bad, especially if it is not an obvious thread ?
e.g. I like [Redacted]

The thread could be inconspicuous, like a rick rolling link.

Or do you enjoy clicking such links ?! XD

The links could be a virus for all we know...

The Renaissance Man; The Bigger Fool.

Edit: I thought you were asking how they got notified. I guess they do have to click it. I think Qbix talked about the male genitalia in the Blanket Ban thread so I guess they click it.

I think someone clicks it and tells everyone else or someone reckognizes the links and warns everyone.

But what if it is a unknown YouTube url?

Do Ninja's enjoy their jobs?

Um... didn't someone make a thread like this in the last day?

Anyway; Don't click the link unless it's from a website you know (that's safe). I remember someone saying that instead of doing the impossible job of blacklisting all bad website, we should make a "white-list" for all of the websites we know are safe.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

I assume they give a large portion of the credit to the report queue. Plus it can be blatantly obvious if a link is bad or not.

It's just Youtube. Also, you could probably PM a mod about these questions or find a thread where they've answered these questions.

There is a script that gives you a preview of the link. You can also, if you're using Chrome, look at the bottom of the page and it will show you the link URL.

Though the best suggestion i can think of is to wait for others to do the dirty work. If someone says the link is bad, it's best not to click it.

The script i was talking about can be found somewhere in Duardo's OP.

I play for fun and armory completion. :)

As a rule of thumb, users with recent join dates are more likely to post bad links, especially if the accounts are a day or two old. Avoid websites that shorten URLs unless you trust the user, and avoid websites with names that sound suspicious. A little bit of caution should keep you safe from nearly everything.
