Subject: Armor Lock is gamebreaking. You can't deny it.

There's one thing I have to say.

So are all Armor Abilities.

Almost every armor ability grants you a new life. If I shoot you 3 times and am going for the fourth headshot to kill you, I've earned the kill. I was the better man in this duel. What's this? You've gone into armor lock? And your buddy comes in and kills me while I'm vulnerable?

When someone earns a kill, it shouldn't be taken away from them. And others should not be granted lives. This goes for most armor abilities. Evade you dodge death, AL you hack death, sprint you run away from death, drop shield you hack death, hologram.... er, well, you can distract death, Jetpack is just retarded, and I'm sure there's other stupid AA's.

Armor Lock is gamebreaking. But so are other Armor Abilities.

It's not like you don't have an Armor Ability as well.

I do. Which makes the game equal. Everyone still has equal opportunity. But it makes gameplay slow. Halo has always been about fast gameplay. You get into a fight, better man comes out in 3-5 secs. Reach? One man is about to win, loser goes into armor lock for 7 seconds, better man gets killed by someone else.

That's why Reach is so bad compared to previous Halo games. It's slow and retarded as -blam!-.

  • 11.17.2011 8:16 AM PDT

Oh look,

this thread again.

  • 11.17.2011 8:18 AM PDT

I'm not blind, I have eyes in front of my head...

-blam!- moan groan like you're the ONLY person who thinks this and the ONLY one to complain about it here.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Quit complaining and play one of the like 5 games to have come out in the last week.

You do realize you can force your opponent out of AL, right?

It doesn't matter. He's still prolonging either his death or your death. He's making gameplay slow.

OP if you're complaining about some other guy coming up and killing you whilst your target went into Armour Lock then you seriously need to learn to be aware of your surroundings.

Do that then you won't complain as much.

Do we really need to have yet another topic about this? Seriously, it's not worth of creating anymore. There's like 9001 threads about it already.

I rush into battle looking for kills. I don't really care if someone kills me, I just want to earn kills. So I go in, ok I can earn one kill then I'll probably die. Suits me. I go in and shoot the guy, about to headshot him then he goes into armor lock. Then, 2 pink walls of -blam!- come flying at me. The dude lives.

Does that make any sense at all? I should have gotten a kill. Why didn't I?

No but I seriously agree with the OP. If you earn a kill there shouldn't be a crutch for you to prolong your life.

Because your opponent correctly used Armor Lock.

The DMR and needler rifle don't do -blam!- against that armor lock. Funny thing is, my grenade will have been at his feet. It will explode, and right as I'm headshotting, Armor Lock. Now what? I try and take him out with my DMR?

@Above: Indeed he did. But that doesn't stop it from being a retarded game mechanism that slows down the game and steals your rightfully earned kills.

Because, in more situations than one, if you retreat to a sfae distance (which you obviously don't do) then the guy who armour locked will more than likely come after you in which case you have the advantage of setting up an ambush.

Because you didn't grenade headshot him when he was alone which kills a person basically instantly. And because you ran off alone to chase a guy down recklessly. Of course you died, what'd you think was gonna happen?

First of all, I started shooting at him as he jumped down from a higher level, so I couldn't grenade him.

Second of all, in Halo 3, or if there wasn't armor lock, I would have gotten that kill. The fact that I may have died afterwards is completely irrelevant. I earned the kill. Why didn't I get it?

Throw another grenade/wait it out/weaken with your secondary/leave and ambush.

It wasn't rightfully earned if you never got the kill.

In the gametypes I play you spawn with one grenade.

So think of real life. You're in the middle of a desert. People want you dead. They drop a nuke on you.
You use armor lock and survive the nuke.

How retarded is that?

As retarded as comparing a Science Fiction shooter to real life.

Bungie should consider investing in precipitation gathering nets for these forums. The sheer amount of tears shed by anyone who's been destroyed by armor lock, jet pack, grenades, and the AR could continuously operate hydroelectric dams, irrigate farms, and provide clean drinking water for third world countries.

This is what you sound like.
