Subject: Armor Lock is gamebreaking. You can't deny it.

In the gametypes I play you spawn with one grenade.

So think of real life. You're in the middle of a desert. People want you dead. They drop a nuke on you.
You use armor lock and survive the nuke.

How retarded is that?
As retarded as comparing a Science Fiction shooter to real life.

We can't compare video games to real life? When I shoot a spartan without shields in the face in Halo, he dies. Same for real life. Shoot a guy without a helmet, he's dead. Oh wait. We can't compare video games to war. Even though first person shooters were fueled by the want to make a stimulation of war.

Admit it. You've lost the argument.

*facedesk* really?!

Yes, there are SOME concepts that happen in real life that we can carry over. I say SOME very strongly.

There's one thing I have to say.

So are all Armor Abilities.

Almost every armor ability grants you a new life. If I shoot you 3 times and am going for the fourth headshot to kill you, I've earned the kill. I was the better man in this duel. What's this? You've gone into armor lock? And your buddy comes in and kills me while I'm vulnerable?

When someone earns a kill, it shouldn't be taken away from them. And others should not be granted lives. This goes for most armor abilities. Evade you dodge death, AL you hack death, sprint you run away from death, drop shield you hack death, hologram.... er, well, you can distract death, Jetpack is just retarded, and I'm sure there's other stupid AA's.

Armor Lock is gamebreaking. But so are other Armor Abilities.

i totally agree bro. I think the armor abilities are cheap and noobish.

Yep, 2 walls of pink -blam!- closed in on me before he came out of armor lock. My death was inevitable. Or was it? If I had armor lock, I could have used that and survived a death where I for sure should have died.

And now you understand the game.

Good day.

If I must dissect this asinine response, I will.

We can't compare video games to real life?
You can't complain that a science FICTION shooter is unrealistic.

When I shoot a spartan without shields in the face in Halo, he dies. Same for real life. Shoot a guy without a helmet, he's dead.Implying Spartans don't wear two ton armor, most notably a helmet. YAY CONTRADICTIONS!

Oh wait. We can't compare video games to war.Answered this idiotic statement.

Even though first person shooters were fueled by the want to make a stimulation of war.Debatable, as FPS's were fueled by a man's natural love for violence. Give a child a stick, and they will pretend it's a gun/sword. Give a grown man development software, and he will make a game involving killing.

Admit it. You've lost the argument. Not at all, actually.

I wasn't talking about realism, I was talking about the fact that it slows processes down. Do you deny that Armor Lock and other armor abilities slow down or even stop someone's death?

I wasn't talking about realism
And this is where I stop responding, as you continue to contradict yourself.

Yes, Armor Abilities prolong a player's life, while at the same time can create faster gameplay (see Sprint, Jetpack, and Evade).

Faster gameplay? What? With sprint, you just run away? With evade, you just dodge rockets...

none of the AA are gamebreaking.
my game still seems to work just fine.

  • 11.17.2011 9:03 AM PDT

you could just make a call-out for your buddies to come help you as you sprint to cover and/or attempt to lure him into leaving AL to chase you. dont stoop down to their level dude.

It's not like you don't have an Armor Ability as well.

I do. Which makes the game equal. Everyone still has equal opportunity. But it makes gameplay slow. Halo has always been about fast gameplay. You get into a fight, better man comes out in 3-5 secs. Reach? One man is about to win, loser goes into armor lock for 7 seconds, better man gets killed by someone else.

That's why Reach is so bad compared to previous Halo games. It's slow and retarded as -blam!-.

Then explain why kills that I rightfully earned are disappearing with a single click of a button?

cause after a year+ you still havn't learned to adapt no matter how crappy you think AAs are.

So what the hell am I going to do to an invincible guy, while 2 pink walls of -blam!- come clashing towards me?

1. teamwork
2. adapt
3. stop playing the game if it makes you a whiney biotch

RUN AWAY. what would you do irl? avoiding a death is as good as gaining a kill in a race to 50 or 75.

I couldn't run away, they started firing as soon as the guy went into armor lock. I was -blam!- up the butt.

I didn't -blam!- up, I should have gotten a kill. But because of armor lock, I didn't.

  • 11.17.2011 9:21 AM PDT

reach in itself is game-breaking.

Halo 3 for life =)

  • 11.17.2011 9:22 AM PDT

LOL dude, that is THE point of armor lock. to save yourself while others come to your aid. 7 seconds is a bit much (i will agree with you there), but still. U MAD.

That's exactly why it's gamebreaking. It rewards noobs and steals from the better player.

I'm dishonored that you have Scat in your username.
