I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Sad news indeed.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

It goes better both there and the Reach Forum. The Community Forum has no real relation to this.

Halocharts as a stats resource and the community that it managed to develop are very much integrated into the Bungie and Halo communities alike. This discussion is not out of place at all.

I've played quite a few games with people affiliated with Halocharts and it was one of my favorite places to venture back in Halo 3. It's extremely disappointed to see it scheduled to go. Hopefully someone is willing to pick it back up as their own.

As far as I know, the Community forum is for B.net discussion and anything related to the community of the B.net, I don't see how this fits. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Halocharts is as much a part of the community as TTL or HBO.

Also:
The Bungie Community Forum is for all topics directly related to the Bungie community itself, the Bungie.net community, and the Bungie.net website. Additionally, this forum is for discussion about World Domination, Bungie LLC itself, Bungie Aerospace, and Bungie lore.

Halocharts is as much a part of the community as any other Halo affiliated website - us old guys in the community familiar with HC and Bungie know that this will a side to Halo that is sorely missed.

I won't speak for Halocharts as a whole, or Firestream for that matter, but I believe that our Halo journey will end with Bungies - on to greener pastures I suppose.

It was a hell of a run.

This is a sad day for a lot of us, so why not just stop trying to be a mod, and let it go. If it doesn't belong here, let the mods deal with it.

Shame to see any community site close, especially one as developed as HaloCharts. I wonder if anyone will step up to take over maintenance.

Wouldn't it be sweet if 343 could continue funding things like HaloCharts, MyGamerCard and Mythica? Keep the servers and domain names running through Microsoft funding, exactly the way they were before they shut down, with a new team of several developers for updates and maintenance?

One can only dream.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Halocharts is (or was) very much and undeniably a part of the Bungie community. I appreciate that some of you feel the need to point out when others have misplaced a thread, but we have said numerous times that the appropriate way to do it is through private messages or the report button, not derailing a perfectly on-topic thread by posting off-topic (and wrong) replies.

Please stop arguing about this; this thread will remain unlocked and in this forum. Back on-topic please, guys.

I, for one, would like to thank Firestream for the countless number of hours he has put into a site that nearly all of us have used and creating a first-class community on Halocharts.com. Having known Firestream for several years now, and having watched halocharts grow from nothing into a true leader in providing game stats -- even influencing developers' stats sites -- into a massive and cohesive gaming community, I am proud to have been an early "lifetime supporter" and contributor there.

Thanks so much for everything you put in, Firestream and all the other admins/mods over there! I have enjoyed playing with and meeting with many of you at PAX, and have no doubt that all of you will continue to be a huge and contributing part of the Bungie community (you're always welcome to hang out here!). :-)

Played with the Firestream a bit back in Halo 3. Had a long discussion about BUNGLE. I thought he ran Gamebattles or something... didn't even think of Halocharts. Huh. Anyways, he disapproved of BUNGLE so I'm not a fan of his.

<.<

... That said, Halocharts has been huge to the Halo community, and I personally have never seen anything like it before (or after as of yet!). So I've got to give the guy respect for maintaining such a massive thing for so long. I'll be sad to see it go, but I'm more impressed with the fact that he kept it up for so long (the thought of it just seems daunting to me! I could never do it!). Thanks for all the hard work mate. It'll be missed, but don't feel regret. You did what you had to do. And hey- YOU are still here, so it's all good.

I'll drop my thanks here too. Halo 3 was my first introduction to Xbox live and is my favorite game, second only to Halo PC. I heard about Halocharts through the grapevine and ultimately came to creating an account and starting my stat tracking through Obi Wan's suggestion. The HC site is a highlight of my Halo 3 career and a part that will be fondly remembered.

In it's birth there were a multitude of other stat tracking sites available for use but none of them so rapidly developed into a product so polished and functional towards the user. Bungie.net and Halocharts were my only two hubs for Halo stats.

I'd like to personally thank you, Firestream, for all the hours you put into a personal project for us. Faced with the reality that such an integral part of my Halo experiences is about to go offline I would love to have the opportunity to throw my support behind the site. Thanks for the last three years- it was a good ride.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

First HIH and now Halocharts, eh? I never used either of them much, but it's a shame to see them fall. Good luck to Firestream with that life thing he was talking about.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

HaloCharts was pretty cool. I enjoyed the the variety of different stats that HaloCharts tracked. It had a great run and it is unfortunate to see it go.

Firestream had his hands full for sure and he did a great job with the site. Cheers!
