During "The Library", 343 Guilty sparks states,

"Your suit should prove well when the Flood begin to alter the atmosphere."

What did he mean by that? Flood spores in the air?

Yeah, probably spores floating around in the air.

Well, just look at the flood. They're disgusting rotting corpses. It's only natural that they would "alter" the atmosphere. Say goodbye to clean air. I highly doubt that The Monitor was implying the flood could be transmitted via airborne means.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Yeah, us Floodians tend to choke the atmosphere with forced memes and GF threads.

Oh you meant the actual Flood...

Yeah, just look at High Charity. I think it'd be pretty hard to breathe in there. Makes you wonder how Arby managed it...

Actually you can, there were spores in both Halo 2 and 3. It's airborne too.

The flood is airborne? For some reason I don't remember this. If you already knew that, then why did you post this thread?

If you take a look at Infected High Charity during Halo 2, you'd notice all the spores in the air.

Halo wars steps it up a notch with spore clouds that infect infantry upon contact with open skin or lungs.

When the flood reach a certain stage, they begin to alter the atmoshpere, which becomes even more dangerous for organics who aren't properly shielded from it.

Airborne and Alter Atmosphere are two different things in my eyes. I thought it meant something else.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Yes, the Flood can alter the atmosphere of the area it occupies. Look at High Charity in both Halo 2 and Halo 3. There are clear examples of the air turning green with flood spores and latching on surfaces creating the biomass that filled HC in Halo 3.

It pretty much turns a whole world useless for nothing else but the Flood. It makes it natural bio hazard defense for anyone without appropriate gear.

Thanks for clearing that up. Shame that Guilty Spark didn't actually give Chief a Grade 12 battle suit, it would have been too easy.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Just look at the mission "Cortana" in Halo 3. I think it's safe to say the atmosphere may be beginning to alter.

This. I hated that mission. It felt like the flood were trying to smother you.
