Subject: Unlocking the secrets and easy credits of Halo

I am creating this thread strictly on informative purposes. As we know, CEA ties into Reach with its multiplayer. For those who may not know, while playing through CEA's campaign you can find terminals hidden in the missions. Each one of those hidden terminals contains a forerunner code at the very end of the transmission.

When you open Halo Waypoint on your system and pres the X button, you will have to enter the button combination to unlock a forerunner keypad. Use this keypad to enter the symbols that are found in each terminal to unlock credits for use in Reach. Each terminal is worth 7,000 cr with the exception of "The Maw" which is worth 37,000 cr. All together you recieve 100,000 cr plus a bonus 11th terminal called Threshold.

Now, with that being said, that leads me to my next theory. The GRD dolls that are hidden throughout the new maps are clues. I believe there are forerunner symbols hidden somewhere on that map that you can enter on waypoint to unlock this helmet. The terminals only require 5 symbols, but you can enter up to 10. Seems strange to me. I will begin hunting symbols sometime today. If anyone has any clues they come across, please post them here so everyone can be helped. Thanks all.

Proof?

I will prove it and only take 5 min of your time. Watch any terminal from CEA. Write the forerunner symbols down. Now go to waypoint on the system. When you press start and get to the menu, press X. This will bring up a combination lock so to speak. The colored circles represent the colored buttons on your controller. Open the combination and it opens a forerunner keypad. Put those 5 symbols from the terminal in there and you will unlock 7,000 cr. I have already done this so I know it works.

I ask that anyone who can help keep this thread alive I would greatly appreciate it. There is 100,000 credits that are easily awarded by this method. I believe everyone should have a chance to try this for themselves. Thank you once again.

Have you done all of them? If you have then create a second profile, get the first terminal and then make a tutorial video. You would help more than the forum users.
EDIT: nvm someone posted a video right as i posted.

I will work on it when I get home from work. I'm guessing any symbols that are found would have to be entered in alphabetical order of the new maps. Example: breakneck would be first.

Ok so, there are 10 spaces to input characters... I might be onto something in the Timberlands map. I'll post a screenshot of it after I get one.

Ok so at the bases on Timberlands or whatever the map is, there is a Forerunner symbol in the each base in the back. I'm not sure if it correlates to one of the characters on the waypoint keyboard, though...

The codes you need to enter to unlock the credits/11th terminal can be found at the end of each of the terminal videos; they are not scattered throughout the campaign.

Here you go.

I'm talking about this "GRD helmet". It might be a myth... but then why would they put in dolls with the helmet on every map? They're obviously clues.

  • 11.19.2011 7:01 AM PDT

If this was posted on the waypoint forum already, I apologize. I have not seen anything like that here.

Also, the GRD may just be a myth, but my theory seems the best so far.
