however, its so terribly disappointing that they remade the Campaign without remaking the multiplayer. no disrespect, but the multiplayer is what made the game famous. we used to play XBC for hours on end because you couldnt play the game on live. I heard bull-blam!- comments like "the engine cannot be remastered in HD on live for multiplayer" But then you can play coop campaign over live, so i know thats a retarded lie. Its such a major disappointment that so many people wanted the multiplayer remade and they never did it. Furthermore, you can tell that the makers of the game dont know why Halo CE was the best because they prove it by not bringing back the most popular maps (Chill Out and Blood Bulch)
If they think remaking some maps on a Reach engine and heading the gametype "see the pistol, be the pistol..." or whatever, is anywhere close to the original is assanine. A blooming reticule and an 8 round clip is a poor second effort when they actually thought they knew what they were doing.
But, most importantly...
The makers of all the new halos must have had nothing to do with the original because of the most important discrepency, the timing. The respawn times in Halo 1 were based on the start of the game, not when the item was picked up. The weapons and power-ups were the most important thing about the game and thats what made it great. The weapons were more powerful also. The only weapon that they upgraded was the needler which is -blam!- anyway. And, the sniper hasnt changed, the only reason its easier to use in all other halos is because masterchier runs slower and you dont have to lead your shots. and the plasma rifle froze your opponent in his steps giving it its unique characteristic.
If the makers of this game know anything then they will somehow figure out how to update the game and make it possible to play over live.
