in blood gulch, go behind the hill, and thru the caves, its the safest. On any map, teamwork is key, if everyone just goes and tries to get the flag at the same time, you are all going to end up being mowed down by respwning players and people on the way. Actually have a plan! Do something like have 2 groups attack the enemy from differant places, flank them. Keep part of your team to spawn kill the guys respawning, don't give them the chance to get thier flag back, cheap, but it works! It doesn't matter who gets the flag, as long as your team wins, that is the point of the game! also, keep yourself alive by taking cover and falling back when nessesary, let your shield recharge then help your friends, if you just go and assault with like 3 bars of life left and no shiled, you are going to be stopped short and be of no use to the team. PROTECT THE DAMN FLAG CARRIER!
IF THEY COULD FREAKING LISTEN TO YOU.

Usually if the map has Ghosts I'll use one to quickly grab the flag and run. I fing Warthogs to be too large for a quick flag grab especially in maps such as Timberland and Sidewinder. On Infinity I use the same tactic, just with a Banshee. I find it much easier for a lone player to make a fast grab while his teammates are distracting the enemy. Someone would have to be camping the flag to even have a chance at stopping me.
