Should those only with linked Gamertags be allowed to post in the Halo forums?

This has probably been brought up several times before, but what the Hell. If this were implemented, I'd imagine the new accounts/users being granted access to read through but not reply to all of the topics in the Halo forums until their Gamertags were linked. The new accounts privileges would be limited to access of The Flood, The Universe forum, and the Bungie Community forum in terms of posting. New users, even with or without a linked Gamertag can still join, post in, and create Private Groups. I view this idea as a way not to necessarily prevent trolling/spamming, but a way to slow down the process of creating a new account to spam/troll the site and its members.

I think it would be a good way to cut down on the amount of stupidity surrounding the Halo: Reach forum because I see several people on alternate accounts in there instigating problems in the threads every time I log on and visit. I use the report button of course when need be, but it still just doesn't seem like enough sometimes. I also realize the title of the thread is slightly misleading and confusing unless you actually read the OP. But what are your thoughts community forum? I'm prepared for my idea to be shot down so give me your best shot! *Puts on body armor and flame suit*

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

You know it might not be difficult to link GT, but some people might not actually be smart enough to do so?

It may keep many of the younger and immature members out, but what about the other members who may actually bring up a decent conversation/topic? It leaves them in the dust and that isn't fair.

Besides, the trolling, immaturity, arguments, etc., will all be there regardless of this being applied. Maybe on a smaller scale, but still.

No. The Optimatch forums were like that. In order to post there, you had to have a linked Gamertag, but I do not think that that should be done to the Halo: Reach forums, though.

No, you can easily link silver gamertags to your WLIDs through xbox.com. Having only accounts with linked gamertags be able to post would make no difference.

For those who are going to say it would discourage them just think about it, they already are willing to make new WLIDs every time they make an alt.
