Subject: Have there been 'Hack' attempts on Bungie.net?

Just a question that just popped up in my head. Have there been any hack attempts made against bungie in the past? Just curious.

Yes, I believe a few mods have been hacked in the past. That's really it; but they were shut down quickly and Achronos probably put a stop to it. I don't think there have been any full site attacks to my knowledge.

The Halo series was my first and favorite FPS series.
I enjoy most games throughout all systems despite what some people say.

Oh, and on the forums, I tell it like it is, like it or not.

I don't doubt that there as been some smart aleck that thought he could pull it off, then he probably gave up.

Really though, security is quite tight around here. There may be a few minor things every now and then, but there hasn't been anything that wasn't easy to clean up.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Maybe.

Most likely. I'm pretty sure every large gaming company have had their own fair share of hackers lurking about.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

I'm still a bit iffy on the whole Bungie Group Wars history and whether people's WLID accounts actually getting hacked was part of the whole staging. Pretty sure it was, so this post is but a pointless thingy. Anyone around then want to clarify for me? *stares at natedogr*

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Banning everyone on B.net would be a great April Fools joke Qbix. You guys should seriously take it into consideration.

Obviously, afterwards reinstate everyone with their titles and such, or rebellion will be inevitable. It'd be like playing with fire.

He means the site itself not someone's account.

Yeah, if you go back far enough you'll see they were attacked by Anonymous.

Someone who hijacks Recon's account could still do damage. Not much, but some.

True. But not site-breakingly bad damage.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Yes. Someone created a GUI interface using Visual Basic and tracked Bungie's IP address. Luckily, all they managed to steal was the stockpile of lame jokes.
