Hi there, apologies that this has been mentioned before.
I know a lot of people have had problems with this, and I refuse to accept that there is not a way round it.
I have finally got round to buying an Alienware machine, which I have wanted for ages (I know a lot of you won't rate them, but I think it's a beautiful machine). I went for the m11xR3 and I have been wanting to play my copy of Halo 2 (PC) at a decent graphics level for a while, upon trying to install I have the problem that many have with Switchable Graphics/Optimus Technology, the game sees the Intel HD graphics and assumes the computer is not adequate to run this game and therefore does not complete the installation.
Even if you set the laptop to use only NVidia GPU it still doesn't work.
I think in the older BIOS for these laptops you could access the BIOS and disable the Intel GPU, but in this one it uses BIOS A04 and I can't even figure out how to access the BIOS. I'm waiting to here back from Dell so hopefully they will shine some light on the subject, but i'm not very optimistic...
If anyone has any ideas, or has experienced the same issue, please get back to me. Any useful suggestions, or BIOS hacking websites/forums that you know would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
squatman
