I haven't played more than a game or two of Reach in probably a couple of weeks. Ever since I got MW3, I've been playing Survival, and I feel like it's just a lot better than Firefight, given the ranking system and increasing difficulty with each wave, unlike the scripted, temporality of Reach firefight. Yes, ODST had increasing difficulty and endless waves, but the skulls really made things a pain in the ass, and running out of ammo for my SMG and pistol mid round and not being able to replenish was quite annoying as well.
I haven't even gotten on MW3 multiplayer yet, and I don't think I will anytime soon until I play Survival to death, no pun intended.
I really thought it wouldn't be until CounterStrike: Global Offensive that I would say my farewell to Reach out of boredom with it, but I guess I overestimated my rocky and at times, non-existent love affair with this game.
The population on Reach this weekend is the lowest I've ever seen for a Saturday-Sunday crowd, about 20K lower than what I'm used to. No doubt MW3 has stolen the hearts of more than just me, and I'm sure BF3 has something to add to that narrative as well.
I played a couple of games of custom Firefight yesterday though, and I will admit that the customizability of Reach's Firefight is a great saving grace for it, and it makes for some really fun times. I hate to think that I'm getting bored of Halo as a whole game, but I guess I may hop on for some custom Firefight fun every now and then.
So now that MW3 and BF3 have both hit shelves and won over their fan bases, what does everyone feel about Reach? Are you still playing it as if nothing ever happened? Or are you far less chaste to Reach than when it first came out. I feel far towards the latter. What about you guys?
