Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

If I play Zealot flag 1 more time, I'm betraying the hell out of all my team mates.

I'm sure you can get some lulzy 1v1's out of that.

Anniversary settings is like playing real Halo though. What difference does it make? Also, what ever happened to the Zero bloom playlist for anniversary?

It makes me sad to hear the 3sk pistol still has bloom.

I don't doubt it, but that kind of puts me off that they still have bloom.

It doesn't matter to me if they take away bloom. If you are good with it, you will be fine without it.

Only thing I have to get used to is when you are one shot, your shields don;t have to be flashing.

I don't really like bleed through or the three shot pistol. It's way too random.

MLG is likely going to have a 5 shot no bloom DMR starts so for me, that's the best

Stop thinking you are an MLG kid now. Everyone has those games where they go neg 12.

If you are going in without a full team expect:
them to not call out
either go negative or even
take power weapons from you
never play the objective

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333
Do not play halo much anymore. Barely ever come on here.

I always get the bad randoms. It's just how it goes. There's a difference between being outplayed and playing so stupidly you give the game up.
I am one of those bad randoms :)

bloom never took any skill. its broke. you can't be skilled with the DMR, its no more than rock-paper-scissors. Halo 4 must go back to a strafe precision weapon, where accuracy is the only factor, and do away with situational pacing. you can be accurate with the DMR and still miss because of bloom, at least zero bloom will make MLG playable.

Because as we all know, aiming ability is the only thing that separates the good players from the greats.

Right...

Wrong on both accounts. It's not that hard to hit somebody. Even if you have the world's sloppiest BR/DMR, you can compensate for that by playing more passively, avoiding 1v1 encounters, and getting into position to teamshoot. Like honestly, teamshooting is like 85% of the game.

Honestly, playing smart is like 90% of being good.

  • 11.21.2011 7:49 PM PDT

Oh good. My K/D is going to tank even more, but at least I can play with no Bloom. Thank god for MLG.

Bingo. Having the best aim doesn't really mean anything when you don't know where to be. You can win all of your 1v1 battles? Great. Too bad you'll get teamshot if you're playing even half-decent competition.

Pretty much.I find it more than anything in Reach this is the case. Mainly due to the maps.

Please don't hype for games...
They'll just fall short of your expectations and you'll complain for months.

Considering how much easier to use the reach pistol is compared to the CE pistol, I'd say bloom is a warranted nerf.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

Or, you know, the bloom. Mathematically speaking, progressive bloom will make a teamshooting more powerful, ceteris paribus.

Playing smart has always been the bigger part of succeeding at Halo. Unfortunately there's the misconception that because the teamshoot has become increasingly powerful with each iteration, teamwork has become more important. Yet teamshooting is really only the most basic form of teamwork.

If anything, there's less leeway to play intelligently now. Even the pros have said as much: "We just wait for us to have more numbers (as in more players alive) and then we push." About the only MLG gameplay that is vaguely interesting to watch these days is KotH.

Anyway, this is a good read.
