While chilling on Bnet for a living sounds fantastic, surely that cannot be the only task the job entails. I know urk is a writer, but DeeJ is a bit different.

Well, does the Community have any answers?

(By "does the Community have any answers?", I mean "does the Community have any answers". Not DeeJ. Don't post here. I want to see what the Community says; they're smarter and better-looking.)

EDIT: Yeah, DeeJ posted here, so now a ton of people are flocking here wanting to answer my question, which I no longer care about. Just talk about the employee and -blam!-.

Imagine a polar bear cub. That has nothing to do with this reply they're just really cute

A community manager manages the community. (He's the glue keeping us stuck to opposite walls so we don't claw each other to death)

Join ODST Expeditionary Force for a more mature, friendly community!

I think when they're not lurking or writing a news article they're supposed to help out around the studio. I think they help out with the store and stuff (Or is the store only managed through Stosh?)

Anyway, that's what they're supposed to be doing. but we all know they just dick around with each-other

It's hardly anything new. Employees have had the ability to embed images into their posts for a very long while.

ISU Cyclones!

In all seriousness I would guess that their job would become more apparent with the release of their next game. Getting updates out to us, running contests...

I would imagine the type of stuff like that that was run for the Halo titles. Only... in whatever way the new game would need.

You know not the -blam!-storm you will cause by doing that. I want one.

On Topic: Community Managers interact with the community, keeps them updated, and gathers both qualitative and quantitative community feedback data. To really help shape the next game, or current game with title updates.

For example: Lets say the community reports that the flashlight in Battlefield 3 is too bright and makes it really overpowered.
DeeJ ( Implying that he's the community manager of DICE) would report that to the development team to fix and tone it down a little. Or in the development of a new game a community manager will bring to the table what the community didn't like ( Armor Abilities, Bloom), so the designers can take that into account.

Below: I feel loved.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

I would imagine he spends time interacting on facebook, twitter, bnet, bungie.org, neogaf, and probably other websites. Probably doing the things Braden was talking abiut.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten
