- Duma kills you

You know what I'm talking about. "lulz ur k/d is lower than mine u suck". Of course in most scenarios a player with a 2.0+ k/d will have more skill than one under the 1.0 mark, there are some prominent exceptions to the rule.
Here are some reasons for a high or low k/d that are unrelated to skill. (For me, skill as in aiming ability, fitness, awareness.)
1. Hogging the vehicles. A semi-competent player in the banshee/tank is going to do better than a semi-competent player strolling around with his DMR.
2. Power weapon hogging. This might explain my 1.75 k/d. By using that sniper all the time with active camo/jetpack one can easily rack up the kills with only a tiny bit of patience.
3. Teammates. That guy who just jumped in front of your wraith turret. Or that guy who melees you every few seconds when you have the sniper rifle. These guys will ruin your game and prevent you from getting kills throughout the match.
4. Yet again, teammates. Usually no matter how good you are, you aren't going to be able to carry your team of randoms up against a coordinated team in a party.
5. Playlist. Grifball as opposed to BTB. Ya dig?
6. Connection. While normally not a problem in this high speed world, some of us still have to deal with the constant lag and frustrations of lame wireless connections. *shakes fist at sky and cries*
7. LOLOL BLOOM AND ARMOR LOCK. Not really though.
I might be missing some things but these examples are good enough reasons to not judge others solely based on a quick glance at their k/d.
TL;DR Read the entire thing you bum. Not like you have better things to do.
