I don't fight because I hate what's in front of me, I fight because I love what's behind me.
Hello everyone, first of all my name is Renato. Some of you may remember you from when I used to built a lot of maps on forge with my old gamertag "Renato Cool Guy" (My most succesful map was Fort la Roque with over 8,000 downloads) but those times are long gone.
I have played, or used to play Halo since I got an xbox for the first time, back in 2003. First it was CE which I never played on Xbox live, and then I got the Xbox 360 back in 2006 and started playing Halo 2 online, and then when Halo 3 came out I was a very active user. My main focus on thegame was forging and just hanging out with friends playing infection and stuff like that.
Unfortunately I haven't played a single game on Xbox live since July 25, 2009.
I really had a stong affection not only to Halo but to gaming in general, and after 2 years of abscence I decided to come back.
There are several things I have noticed since my last visit:
1-. I used to be a Legendary Member on bungie.net, when I came back my account was gone apparently for innactiviry and so was that "status".
2-. A lot of new maps and games have comed out, I knew this was going on and I of course heard about ODST, Reach etc... It is nice to see how much things have changed, confusing at times and I feel a little noobish of course but it's all good, all it takes is to get used to it.
3-. Either eveyone became amazing players or I just suck because of my absence. Or just always sucked.
4-. This is just an opinion, but I beleive that before everything was more for the fun of it, and the few games I've got to play nowadays are more competitive, it's hard to find someone willing to socialize and it's a more lonely gamestyle.
5-. I really need to get the new maps or I will be very limited on xbox live.
6-. The quantity of people who have Recon now is amazing, now I know it's because of Reach but on the first game I was like WTF?
7-. I bought the 360 Slim to celebrate my return, runs smoother on my opinion. It's really good and it included both Fable 3 and Halo: Reach. Unfortunately the Reach game came in a code so I will have to download 6 gb of info with my crappy internet conection. And I think I don't get Recon.
8-. I'm really rubbish in my "gaming skills". I need to recover experience.
9-. All my friends have no idea of who I am, nvm 1 did remember me.
So, I'm not sure why I'm doing this but I felt like sharing this with you guys and I was wondering if someone has ever quitted gaming for some time and came back after a while. If so, what was your experience?
Also, I feel really rubbish now and could use a group of people with who I could play and recover the knowledge of the game :)
