Subject: Pros disguised as Guests

Has any one else noticed a lot of good to great players being guests while the people with accounts and a decent rank suck? He's an example of what I'm talking about. You and the other 3 people on your team in Team Slayer have say 9, 10, 11, and 13 as their kill count while the red team has 2, 4, 21, 23. The people who got 2 & 4 have accounts and are Captains or better while the people who got 21 & 23 are guests. I've seen this happen from time to time, but whenever a challenge is available that requires say Matchmaking kills or Matchmaking Victories I see it all the time. Isn't there a way to track people who get carried and put them with others who also can't win their own matches? Seems pretty easy to me. Just toss in a few extra lines of code on the servers and look for examples like the one I gave consistently happening. I'm not pissed about people being carried. I just wish Bungie would see that if the reward is high enough people will (and are working to) unbalance the game.

Guests are the best Halo players. You can't tell if they're good or if they're terrible in the pre game lobby.

"Get pooped on."- Everyone at FHS

A. intimidating wall of text.

B. I do it all the time for giggles. Playing as a guest is fun.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

I've only ever played against one guest who rocked my ass. Even if they're really good players, some people just can't deal with splitscreen. Especially in Reach where the draw distance in splitscreen is so short.

I have played against/with guests who were infinitely better than their main, though.

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

I did that a couple years ago on my friend's Staff Cap'n account. He had a projector for a screen so the split-screen didn't obstruct my vision. I had I think two perfection while doing that and had at least 20 kills per game. Such fun.

"A lesson without pain is meaningless, for you cannot gain something without sacrificing something else in return, but once you have overcome it and made it your own...you will gain an irreplaceable, fullmetal heart."

I did it a lot in Halo 3, I was a General playing as a Sergeant's guest. But I wouldn't call it disguising myself, I was just at his house. lol

I hate guests on either team... they are either completely useless, or impossible to kill. I put this down to two or three sets of game data going down one internet conn. I'm sure it results in data loss when it comes to your hits on them counting. I could be wrong though.

So my brother who visits for Thanksgiving and doesn't care enough to recover his account so he plays as a guest counts? I have a particular friend who is particularly bad at the game. I love playing as a guest on his account because MM puts him up against players I can completely annihilate.

ITS A TRAP!!!!

It's not people playing as guests that urks me. It's people playing as guests for the sole purpose of unbalancing the game that gets to me. I never mind losing a match due to skill or team work, but when I get two people on my team who just started playing Halo for the first time as Bungie's way of balancing the teams due to two guests on the other team who are not new by any means, well... that's an unbalanced loss right there my friend.

  • 11.25.2011 9:35 AM PDT

Every guest that has been on my team during my whole time on reach has been trash.

Every guest on the other team has been trash.

99.99999% of guests are trash. There is that one guy that can hold his own every once in a while, but it's rare.
