13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

I like Coup for what it is, but honestly it's rather annoying when you have so many people constantly changing it and making posts and background that are so bad you can't even read them. I have everything disabled on mine so I can't even see all these crazy colors that people come up with.

It's unreadable. I enjoy using it for only a custom avatar and seeing what others come up with. I try to keep it simple. Anything more than that and it's just a big annoyance in my opinion.

I never, nor do I plan to, change my Coup. The only thing I dislike about Coup is the amount of...

*Ahem*

"Furry" ones.

I really don't understand why I have a signature.

I can understand why some people wouldn't want to use it.
I only really use it because I like being able to customize things and I personally think the site looks incredibly boring without it.

I made one so people that use it can see mine. But I don't use it myself. Haven't since day 1 of Coup 4 coming out. It's annoying and hurts my eyes.

Wow, I never knew how happy I should be that I don't use coup. I was in that thread unknowing of the horror of the other dimension...

But really coup is just an option, some like it others don't and it would be so much better if people stopped commenting coups de-railing topics.

In the real world, we call this indifference, not dislike. You make it sound like they outright hate it in the OP.

Right. But, what I'm saying is, you wouldn't call coup stupid. You recognize a part of it that can help you in some way shape or form. I was attempting to dispel the rumors the OP had fabricated that ninjas, on the whole, dislike coup and write it off as a dumpster full of watercolors and adulteration.

If you, a master forum ninja, used it, then surely the Ninja agenda must not be to get out that coup is a terrible script that should not be used under any circumstances. It isn't evil, and most people don't think it is.

Saying that employees and ninjas DO think it's a terribly terrible thing isn't fair, especially when the OP didn't cite ANY situation in which an employee or ninja said anything like that.

I was just trying to prove you guys didn't (mostly) have that opinion.

It's funny, most people use it to make them look like mods; he uses it to make him look like a non-mod.

Why is this?

Why do they find it annoying, pointless, or just stupid?

I can't see a logical reason why. It lets you see people express themselves. People can show their interests, hobbies, whatever. And the web team doesn't seem to give a hoot about whether it stays or goes, which bothers me. I see people complain about how "Coup makes it look like you regurgitated Fruit Loops on your screen," and I can't understand that. It doesn't. "Yeah, this is murder on the eyes. No offense to the web team, but normal Bungie.net, when compared to Coup, is rather dull.
That's what they see?!

I think Coup's a really cool concept and hadn't really bothered trying it yet. Yes, it's nice to be able to express yourself more, but if that's how it makes these forums look, I'll definitely pass.

Not all Coups look like that. And again, you can ignore ones you don't like. Another example:

Even I gave it a whirl once upon a time, but I quickly loss interest in the little eyesore and went back to plain vanilla Bungie.net.

Also, if that's suppose to be a positive example, it's still not helping your cause.

He might be talking about that one post from Achronos...

The next time we substantially update bungie.net, Coup is going to get completely hosed. I'm curious to see what happens.

Not any time soon, though.

If this is the case OP, then know that Achronos is saying that the next time Bungie.net changes, it will change so significantly that Coup will likely not be able to function with only a few modifications, and will need a serious overhaul for it to be operational again. He's not actively trying to kill Coup, if he wanted to do that, he would have done so already.

I have coup, but I mostly use a browser that cannot view it, cause it's annoying seeing everyone's coups and bright colors and etc.

Don't you get how unprofessional that looks on a company's legitimate and main website, on their official forums, Coup looks?

I applaud Bungie.net for its amazing aesthetic design and always have. It's so clean. So well organized. The way Coup is used, it totally ruins all that hard work in one fell swoop.

OT: I don't see why Achronos really has a problem with, it allows a greater customizable experience on B.net, which leaves his hands free to work on other parts of the site.

The really good part of it? Is that if you are having fun while posting well and enjoying your time here, not only is your trust rating improving (and the title as a result), you begin to realize/understand that the REAL reward isn't a title or a colored banner. The real reward is that you're actually enjoying your time here and your interaction with other members of the community. -Recon Number 54

Recon uses coup. Logic refuted.

/thread

As an anti-coup.

I downloaded it, installed it, used it to mute my title, bar and text (as best as I could), and then uninstalled it. I don't like how it makes my Bungie.Net experience look.

I am neither for nor against Coup. If a member wants to inject their 3rd party content into the Bungie.Net experience for others and themselves and are willing to accept the 3rd party content that others will inject into their Bungie.Net experience.... that is their prerogative and I don't mind or care.

But I'd rather have a forum experience that is like this than one that is like this.

One is far more conducive to conversation and discussion, the other is a bunch of people screaming "LOOK at ME!" instead of "talk to me".

Agreed. I had it installed for a while, then got tired of everyone trying to show off or rag on other people's coup. It's still installed and I'll turn it on every once in a while, but the little bursts where I actually do use it are short lived.
