Holy crap, there are a ton of screwed up prices. Pretty good timing with that sale being advertised on the front page, Bungie. Top notch, there.

I remember someone saying something about it being a first edition.

That's probably it...

Or they only have one copy left?

There's one left, but I wasn't aware they increased their prices based on stock. In fact, I've never heard of an online store doing that.

I'm actually pretty sure I heard that it was a first edition or something like that.

Heck, if I owned a store for mega fans and only had one of an item left, I'd totally jack it's price up, just for fun and to keep it around the place just a little longer.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I'm confused as to why they have MW2 for sale.

Exactly, those are the original versions of the trilogy. 343i released "definitive editions" where they changed them a little, so those ones are out of print, and are now rare.

That has something to do with how their store is run through Amazon and so sometimes there is more merchandise than they would normally want in there (modded controllers for one).

Never curse a failure. Learn from your mistakes so that if you are lucky enough to get a second chance, you can avoid repeating the same mistakes. And have a greater outcome.

Damn... I bought the set years ago for $25... Unfortunately, they are in a condition I call "excessively used."

So what you're saying is that I should go to my local Coles bookstore and purchase the First Edition set that has been sitting there for ages and then sell them on eBay? It's way cheaper too.

  • 11.23.2011 11:54 PM PDT

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I bought 'the fall of Reach' and 'the flood' about a month ago for $10 each. I doubt that they are worth that much.

  • 11.23.2011 11:57 PM PDT

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

The Bungie Store is ran through Amazon, so you can expect some hiccups.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

Not in real time they don't. But the book is being sold by third party retailers (not obvious from the bungie page), who would base prices on supply vs demand, of course.

That version of the book is a collectors item at this point; I don't know why Amazon doesn't offer a reprinted version instead, since they're about $8.00

Well you should buy them, but don't sell them. That copy of those books has been sitting in the Bungie store for six months. Wait another five years and those books might actually sell for something.

I still love my copies too much to sell them, even though they're still in good condition.

For Carnage Apply Within - We played Marathon before Marathon was cool!

Keep it authentic...

Amazon's related items show up on the Bungie Store. Those non-Bungie games and modded controllers have nothing to do with Bunige, Amazon just sees that Bungie is selling gaming stuff and puts them there.

Probably those books too.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

Aw shucks, I was going to get it, but the $4.49 shipping pushed me over budget...

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Funny, I got all of the 2001 versions of those books for like $15.00 in a set at Barnes n Noble a few months ago.

  • 11.24.2011 6:28 AM PDT

Are those books coated in gold or something?

  • 11.24.2011 7:35 AM PDT

That's definitely a typo, I'll sell you my 3 used ones and throw in Ghosts of Onyx for 15.70 ( kidding) though.
