It needs a messaging service where, if there are new posts in a group, it notifies you. Also, if people you know or want to keep track of, you get a message if they post and which forum/thread they posted in. A thread search. NO KARMA!!!

I like it when it tells you that someone responded to the thread, but not when it sends to your email. High Impact Halo forums are retarded for this. I replied once and then the next day i had over 50 emails from them.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

The group-status updates would be nice, but getting messages for thread replies is just a waste of a programmer's time, in my opinion. It doesn't take much time to just go to the thread yourself and read it.... and keeping track of just certain people... It just seems a bit stalker-esque to me. Although I'll admit it does have it's uses, it'll also have abuses.

Lets go for a likely example: A certain forum member pisses off another one. One guy gets a grudge against the other, and uses the feature to keep track of what threads he makes just so that he can reply in them and completely trash the subject.... inviting more spam and crap into the forums.

It's somewhat of a good idea, but unnecessary, and I think Bungie might agree to that.

But that's just my opinion. Perhaps I'm wrong.

...That's not how a messaging system works. You can't keep track of other people with it. You only get emails when somone replies to a thread you've started....Also the main thing I had to say is you spelt Bungie wrong....kinda disappointing for such a long time member...

Well, then, I only posted what I said based on how I interpreted the original explaination. I apologize for being wrong.

Even so, part of my post still holds a valid point. Why bother doing the programming to make it so that you get emails/pms when you get an arbitrary reply to a thread you made? Just go check the thread. It takes less than a minute to make a few clicks and read through the list of posts to weed yours out of the mix.

And everyone makes mistakes. My eyes just didn't happen to catch that one and I was in a class while I posted it (yes, I can multitask), so I didn't bother to read it twice or run it through a spell-checker. My spelling, for the most part, is pretty good. There are worse users than me.

ya but that would require alot of programming(note that bungie did not fully develops the forums if you see the little link in bottom corner that says ideal scienece they are the real developers and i dont that a messaging system would work because of the difference of the site and forum)

NO KARMA!!!

Why?

Have you ever seen the RvB forums? Get on the first page and say something like, "I know this is going to be a good episode. I'm glad I'm a sponsor. Thanks Rooster Teeth!!11!!1!!!!eleventyone!!!"

BAAAAM +1341 Karma

Also people give huge ammounts of Karma to the Rooster Teeth people. What's the point of that?

That is an incorrect statement; IPB holds post subscription functionality, which is what he's talking about.

What b.net 2.0 needs
Is their own abbreviation. Bnet was first used for Battle.net ages before Bungie.net. Bu.net perhaps?
