I am sure they wouldn't go through all that trouble just to carpet ban a thread. It is all just on the moderator's judgement, the subject of the thread, and what the posters are posting in it.

  • 11.25.2011 1:42 AM PDT

I doubt it, moderators don't get anything out of banning people, so it doesn't seem worth it.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Or maybe this is all just one giant mousetrap waiting to snap everyone up in one big swoop.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

No, we would never intentionally bait users in this manner. It's far more trouble than it's worth.

So if it wasn't so much trouble, you would?

I've never thought about it like that before... Though I don't see why they'd have a reason to do it. It's not like they're getting paid.

I don't think that's a fair reading of what I said. I said that it is not worth the trouble. And I think that most of us would do just about anything that WAS "worth the trouble." That's what being "worth the trouble" means -- by definition.

The fact remains, however, that THIS is not, and will never be, worth the trouble.

I also maintain that Chrome is weaksauce, and IE9 is fast and works very well

Doing so would mean creating a thread that is worthy of a carpet ban. I doubt any of the ninjas would want to do that.

No, I have a fairly good understanding of what you said, but I couldn't help but to twist your words some.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Why would they want to ban more people than necessary? The mods aren't that sadistic.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Jerk.

I am...whimsical today.

I'm pretty sure there are only 4 other members on this site. The rest are mod alts.

Bungie.net : Worth the Trouble
nah, Ninjas don't bait us, it's more like snagging fish out of a barrel with an oversized treble hook. That's probably why I don't get bant, I keep to the depths and never chew on metal pointy stuff.

Bahahahahahah. Well played, sir.

I don't think they set us up but I've noticed that they seem to hand out collective punishments, something that IRL is illegal or atleast frowned upon in most places. That's atleast the impression I get when a thread can go on for days at the same time as other threads are being taken care of on the same page. So someone most have thought that at a certain point there was nothing to enforce. One day later and they're all banned which implies that people on 1-4 (example) have become guilty be association and punished for something others did.

I guess there's a theoretical chance that the people on page 1-4 posted on pages 5 and so on too but we know of cases where this hasnt been the case. Then there's the possibility that the mods simply are so inconsistent in relation to eachother that someone deems a thread to be fine while another instantly jumps the gun. None of the scenarios are particulary conducive to a fun and easy going forum experience.

Lastly, it's not like this happens on a day to day basis so take my opinion with a pinch of salt, as if you didnt already.

I hypothesize that you are utterly and entirely wrong and the reality of the situation is that mods aren't always there. And, if they see a bad thread, they lock it. And, if the responders therein are breaking the rules, they ban said members at the same time they lock the thread.

What do you think of that hypothesis? It's called the Infinity Theory.

I feel like this thread was bait for someone to make the comment. Or I could just be thinking too much into things again.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Mods have to reach their monthly quota somehow, I guess.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

Another one of these threads? Sigh.

No, the mods wouldn't bait anyone. That would require too much effort on their part.
