No, what he means is the casuals out weigh the competitive players by ten fold.
Casuals don't give a rat's ass what they're playing, they'll buy the damn game regardless, probably just because it has shiny graphics, pretty lighting effects and kewl customization and not give 2 flying elephant trunks about multiplayer.
Who cares about "loyal fans" or "the competitive crowd" when its the casuals that fill their wallets without complaint? or they get the initial sales off the fans and competitive crowd before they realize the gameplay is terrible, just because the name Halo is on the box? Especially when someones contract with the game will be over shortly after release?
It's business, the grim reality of it is they sold out completely though.
