I have read the article about the H.F.C.S. and have a few questions. Link to the article.

The following quote (underlined text) is what my question asks about:

If I try to join HFCS, will I really be smited? If so, how?

"Excessive attempts to join HFCS could be fallowed by a minor time out from Bungie.net, but as always, people will be dimwitted and try to join whatever they aren't allowed to. Maybe it's time we get some fences and landmines like...Area-51...yeah..."

So what exactly does this mean? A forum ban or what? I mean, of course it kind of explains it itself, but I just want a little bit of clarification from a Mod.

Just wait and then someone might allow you to join. I do not know about this as i have not really joined many groups.

still i believe one of the more experienced members or ninjas can help you.

The group is for ninjas only. It's saying that if you bug them by asking to join enough, they might give you a warning or a very short ban or something. I sincerely doubt it's a frequent issue.

If you can't figure out what "...a minor timeout from Bungie.net"... then... wow.

Honestly, did you need to make a thread about this? Just don't try to join HFCS if the word "ninja" is not in your title.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Wait a minute, excessive attempts?

That means I can try to get in a few times. What is an excessive amount of times?

I know a few people have tried a few times.

I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

I doubt they've ever really had to punish anyone for attempting to join HFCS. It's likely just an empty threat designed to discourage attempts to join the group so that urk/Achronos/whoever doesn't have to reject as many people from the group on the occasion that they clean out the member queue. If they're serious, though, it'd probably only be a three-day ban or something like that.

Read the OP. I was just asking for exact clarification.

I try to join multiple times a day, followed by a wave of e-mails to the master moderators with my attached resume.

One day they'll respond.

Yeah but everyone has tried joining HFCS in their Bungie.net career.

It is like getting banned or blaming Stosh.

Proof: Any '07 Exalted Mythics.

Other proof: I've never tried on either of my accounts. Nor have most people, I'm sure.

Nope

I remember some people said they were accepted for like a brief minute then they got removed.

Nope.
What's the point of attempting to join a group I have no right to be in?

As for the matter at hand, it would probably be a warning or a small, maybe 2-3 day ban, but I highly doubt they do it often.
Or it could simply be a deterrent to try and stop people from clicking the "Join group" button.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

The only thing that happens is you waste a group spot until they deny your membership. I'm sure if you kept trying you may face harsher penalties.

People try to get in becuase they think it is funny (it really isn't).

But Bungie is finally enforcing the age old rule.

It's not an unlikely hypothesis. Which would make more sense: to put the rule in place and not enforce it while still scaring people into obeying it, or actually taking down the names of every person who tries to join and keeping track of how many times each person joined?

I just don't think anyone would waste their time with the latter.

How do you know they're "finally enforcing" it? That statement makes no sense without a reference. What makes you think they're JUST NOW enforcing it, if at all?
