Do you like Yax? I do.

This was only the second time I've ever ordered anything from the Bungie Store. I ordered the Bungie track jacket, the "See You Starside" mug, and the Bungie classic white t-shirt. I needed a new jacket, and I'll get a lot of use out of the mug since I drink coffee almost every day. Although I like the fact that these are Bungie items, I didn't buy them for the sole purpose of getting more Bungie swag. They were items I wanted and would have gotten regardless of whether or not them were Bungie items. The fact that they were on sale was also a nice bonus.

Only thing I would be interested in is the mug, looks cool and I could use a good quality one. However, I just don't feel like purchasing one.

>>OP makes thread criticizing people for going insane over the Bungie store's products.

>>Posters completely ignore this and post stuff that they bought/are going to buy/wish they could buy.

This is why we can't have nice things.

I just bought a new Macbook and I'm thinking about getting the backpack. I once had a shoulder strap for another laptop, but I hated it. I'd rather have a sling bag or a backpack. Just deciding which I should buy.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

People don't like to read things, they just want to get their words out and then leave. My question has only been addressed by a few people, far from the majority though.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

I'm not sure why people do it. It's nice to get things occasionally but i don't feel the urge to buy every single product just because of the brand.

I find it strange too that people want all the stuff with the new logo when they have no idea what it will be representing yet.

I agree with supporting companies, however, it's not like Bungie NEEDS you to buy these things or else they'll go under.

Spending 100+ dollars on swag is kind of ridiculous. I bought a 3 Month Gold membership and a Plantronics headset from Bungie today, but that was it.

Edit: Whatever your opinion is on the matter, people can spend their money however they please.

It's not just the rampant urge to buy anything with a Bungie logo on it, it's the annoying habit to post about it any chance they get.

People have a sense of community here, I think discussing what they buy is good. I'm glad people get excited about things, there's a lot of hurt in the world and if some swag brings a little happiness... that's great!

I would never spend hundreds of dollars on swag. I've bought a few t-shirts over the past four or five years.

Discussing is all fine and good, and is the point of the forums. However, there's been a weird amount of people just posting what they bought, sometimes with a few words of backstory to (for some reason) explain their purchase. A brilliant example of this is Duardo's post above...it doesn't even address the OP. He just responded with a post about what he bought, which isn't even the point of this thread.

I guess people just like talking about stuff they buy, which is fine, but maybe try to consolidate the threads a bit?

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

If I wanted regular clothing, I could just just go to Walmart.

The only reason I would buy something from Bungie, would be because I want a Bungie made product. I may not need the clothing to come from Bungie because of the prices and shipping, but it's a form of self expression showing that I'm a fan of them since I have them.

Same goes for anything. It's more or less just a want for us to have something like that.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

If this was any other brand/ company, there wouldn't be this big of a fuss about it.
That's simply not true. There wouldn't be a big fuss about it on this forum, but there are plenty of brands that cause people to buy basically everything with their name on it. Bands come to mind, as do sports teams, and Apple, and webcomics. So yeah, fanatics exist, and obviously they would congregate here of all places.

I'm not sure how $7.00 is a ridiculous shipping charge for across the country, though. It would cost me at least $5 just to send it to my neighbor. Sure it sucks to pay shipping at all, but until Bungie uses Amazon Fulfillment, I don't see that getting helped. It looks like they bundle your shipment, too; adding the moneyclip to the mug didn't increase the estimated cost. Adding a shirt makes it go up a dollar.

Personally I have other things to spend my money on. But if someone else wants to buy new backpack just because it says Bungie on it, what's it matter?

P.S, Money clips are plenty practical for people who want to avoid wallet bulge. I might have someone add that to my stocking, actually...
