Subject: Possible fixes to Living Dead?

Before someone posts that I'm in the wrong forums, there are quite a few Reach players here, and I'm posting this on the 343i forum when I get a chance.

1. Would it be possible for 343i to make EVERYONE a human twice and zombie once? Or vice versa? Or as mojeda101 said, make it 4 rounds and everyone is a zombie twice and human twice?

2. Instead of having The Cage in Living Dead, could Uncaged be put in instead? It would put an end to a couple different major camping spots

3. Could 343 edit all the maps put in Living Dead, and put Return to Battlefield messages in the major camping spots*?

4. Give the Alpha Zombies a shield just strong enough to take a single pistol shot before running out?

5. (If you disagree with 4) Give the Alpha Zombies a higher damage resistance?

6. Add player-made maps to Living Dead?


*When I say "major camping spots" I mean spots that are obviously abusing the lack of a Return to Battlefield message on the map, not parts of the map that Bungie intended you to regularly walk through

How I'd make Living Dead.

4 rounds instead of 3.
2 times Zombie, 2 times Human, Mandatory.

Whoever got the most kills as human in round 1, is instant zombie next round.

Alpha Zombies have a bit more damage resistance, as for adding in custom-made maps. Friendly Fire turned off, and add in ammo pick-up.

I'd get rid of the rolling.

The already simplified that problem by creating the Alpha Zombies gametype which is picked more often rather than the vanilla Infection.

1. It's possible, you're not the first ones to think of it, and it's a great idea. It's never gonna happen.

2. Not a bad idea but not really something that needs changing around.

3. I'd be okay with that as long as they only put those zones in cheap camping spots. You know, those places where people work to get up to, and then hide out/camp until the round's over. Again, though, not a necessity.

4. That sounds like a dumb idea to me.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

1. Or just make it 2 times zombie and 2 times human
2. Or just remove __cage totally
3. Bungie already did that on Sword Base's ledge
4. Alpha Zombies suck anyway, get rid of it entirely

As Halo 3 custom games proved, people love shooting targets that run round and can't fight back.

The amount of fatboy on stairway to heaven or sealed fortresses I saw were shocking.
Safe Havens did work, shame they couldn't make something based off that called something like contamination, where every say 30 seconds the zones shift so stay in the contaminated section of the map too long or stand still there etc and you auto die from and get infected, this would get players moving round the maps at least rather than camping one spot.


I did on Halo 3 try a mode to counter the problem called Nemesis, basically you have 1 single start zombie, the nemesis, full shield through multiple over ones, slows as anything though, but in return using a rocket launcher and grav hammer, the main idea being it forces groups to work together to kill the first zombie due to the high shield level, and makes its easy for the first zombie to get some points infecting people. Finally coming in to play at the end again to break any deadlock by being able to pretty much walk up to the enemy and kill them off, if they are camping.

lol you think that makes a difference? I can take out any zombie no matter what. It just takes a little aim with the magnum. Wow I'm glad you taught me something /sarcasm

Give me 5 minutes and I could kill-zone every single 'abused' camping spot there is to camp in on these maps. That's how simple it is. The fact 343i has done nothing either shows they simply don't care (fair enough, it's not like the most-played playlist in Reach deserves a minute of their attention), or that they are 'just getting started' and haven't done anything yet.

If you're sick of people camping, then when you spawn human be sure to do something about it. Some of the best fun to be had in LD is betraying tryhards who camp in order to stat-pad their 1.05 in Team Slayer. The opposite is also true. If you're a zombie and notice someone hiding from humans instead of playing the game properly, be sure to give him an extra death as well.

P.S. Anyone that says 'lolinfection' or 'lollivingdead' is a -blam!-stain, except for you Kira Onime xoxo.

Turn off Friendly Fire.
